An evaluation of tourism industry perceptions of tourism programmes of selected further- higher education in the Western Cape

Breytenbach, Andre January 2010 (has links)
The research aims (i) to evaluate possible differences in the practical application of knowledge and skills learning concepts employed by selected further- and higher education institutions in the Western Cape; (ii) to evaluate the Western Cape tourism industry’s awareness of the differences in tourism educational programmes and qualifications offered by the relevant institutions. The research methodology for the project has, via a literature search and empirical survey, evaluated the extent of differences in practical application that exist among tourism educational programmes offered by further- and higher education institutions respectively, in the Western Cape. It seeks to establish the possible impact these differences could impose on knowledge levels of graduates and on their employability. In the literature search, inter alia, relevant sources were consulted. A number of applicable normative criteria were extracted from the literature, followed by an empirical survey in which randomly selected tourism professionals practicing in the Western Cape were approached to complete questionnaires. The responses to the empirical survey were codified on a computer data-base and were statistically analysed with the assistance of a registered statistician. The findings and interpretations of the statistical analyses were presented as tables and charts and were individually explained. A number of recommendations have been made, followed by relevant, concluding remarks.

Ferreira, Maria Manuela 26 June 2004 (has links)
The recent and swift changes (at the philosophical, political and economic level) in the health and social care sectors asks for the assessment of the existence of a match between the competencies acquired in the occupational therapy education and those required at the workplace, in order to ensure the quality of graduates. A key challenge for the educators is how to plan efficient educational programmes which calls for the redefinition of curriculum goals relevant to the quality of practice. We looked for new strategies to address these questions in the form of a group-based research with two main objectives: (1) to identify the core competencies required for the occupational therapy practice at different work settings in Portugal; and (2) to identify the contents of an occupational therapy educational program, suitable to attain the core competencies found. Interviews, discussion with two panels of experts, questionnaires and the Delphi technique have been used involving a total of 120 Occupational Therapists working at different settings including at the two Portuguese occupational therapy schools. The research provides the background on how to base the occupational therapy course content in relationship to the needs of the workplace environment. Above all, this study is a contribution in finding methodologies by working with the practitioners’ experts in order to convert their knowledge and professional demands into educational programs.

Workplace learning and the workplace educator: a South African retail story

Pedro, Simone January 2013 (has links)
Magister Educationis - MEd / This study investigated how workplace educator development programmes prepare workplace educators for their roles and responsibilities in facilitating learning in the workplace. Framed by the literature, the research shows that workplace educators’ qualifications prepare them for facilitating learning in the workplace. The most important findings show that their qualifications have prepared them for their roles and responsibilities in facilitating transformative learning within the workplace. Furthermore, the findings show that their qualifications, roles and responsibilities in facilitating learning in the workplace also impacted on workplace educators’ own thinking, prompting them to question their own values and beliefs. This perspective transformation allows for workplace educators better facilitating transformative learning in the workplace.

Fiset, Karine 17 April 2018 (has links)

L'identification du contrat administratif / The identification of administrative contract

Ferré, Robin 06 December 2016 (has links)
The identification of administrative contract is known as a concept constructed by case law. The concept criteria were made by the Conseil d’État in the early twentieth century, and judicial authorities still retain an undeniable importance in the matter. The proliferation of legal qualifications, since the beginning of the new millennium however raises questions. It is tempting to see in this development a disruption of the concept of administrative contract. These changes, however, would result in a loss of direction which may result in an eventual disappearance, or even pave the way for unification of contractual disputes, administrative contract having lost all specificity. Yet it is this uniqueness that justifies the existence of a special rule body - the regime of administrative contract - and a special judge, the administrative judge. To consider the problem in these terms is tempting, but only partially reflects reality. It must be remembered that the legal qualifications were very early part in the formulation of administrative contract, and they cohabited with the criteria derived from case law to the contemporary period. Despite appearances, this is still the case. The most recent legal qualifications did not question the specificity of administrative contract. It is yet identified according to its special nature, and only its scope changes. Jurisprudential criteria and legal qualifications indeed share the same conception of administrative contract, based on the proximity to the public interest. Far from being weakened, the concept of administrative contract thus reveals its permanence. Only backs away the intervention of case law within it, except in the enforcement of written law.
