Detekce fibrilace síní v EKG / ECG based atrial fibrillation detectionPlch, Vít January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with detection of atrial fibrillation from HRV, classification of Poincare map and in the end the divide into two groups, one with detected atrial fibrillation and one not. The result is the decision on which variables are statistically significant for the identification of atrial fibrillations and which are not, and classification of the ECG signals.

This diploma thesis deals with detection of atrial fibrillation from HRV, classification of Poincare map and in the end the divide into two groups, one with detected atrial fibrillation and one not. The result is the decision on which variables are statistically significant for the identification of atrial fibrillations and which are not, and classification of the ECG signals with Bayes and Lavenberg-Marquardt neural networks. Bayes neural network with 23 neurons in hidden layer is best with F1 measure = 83,6 %, Sensitivity = 88,1 % and Specificity 94,5 %.

Životní kariera sexuálních pracovnic / Life career of sexual workersBabej, Sára January 2020 (has links)
Aj The goal of the diploma thesis is to find out what is the life career of women who provide paid sexual services. The thesis only applies to women who provide sexual services for financial compensation and are over 18 years old. Although we know from research that a large portion of women started providing sexual services for money before the age of 18, we are not getting into direct contact with teenage sex workers. In my work, I focus on the biography of women providing paid sex services. From their perspective, and how they view their lives. The sample of respondents was adapted to the topic and we approached both the clients of Bliss without RISK, z. s. as well as those who no longer working in the sex business. I used the in-depth interview method to get a basic picture of the interviewee's family, personal, and work situation. Furthermore, I focused on capturing their view of the life stage when they worked in the sex business. I tried to identify the moments that led to the entry and exit of this profession. Keywords: Sex business, Bliss without RISK (R-R), Sex worker, Life career, Paid sexual services

“On the Cusp of Half-Remembered Prophecies”: Interpreting Prophecy in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and FireLoar, Patrice A 10 August 2016 (has links)
The prophecies in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series are unclear and often appear to have multiple possible fulfillments, or none at all. In addition, some of these prophesied events occur before they are introduced, which further contributes to the lack of clarity in interpreting them. My thesis will discuss the methods by which Martin offers readers clues to a prophecy’s fulfillment and argue that Martin’s use of these imprecise prophecies challenges high fantasy tropes about prophecies.

Mhysa or Monster: Masculinization, Mimicry, and the White Savior in A Song of Ice and FireUnknown Date (has links)
Song of Ice and Fire is unarguably one of the most popular fantasy series of all time. Notwithstanding its success, the series has only recently begun to be analyzed critically. George R.R. Martin’s books are often celebrated for breaking many of the tropes common in fantasy literature. Despite this, the series is nonetheless a product of a genre that has been shaped by white, male authors. Using such prominent postcolonial scholars as Edward Said, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Homi Bhabha, and Albert Memmi, I analyze the five published books of Martin’s series. I argue that although Martin seems to be aware of the theoretical background of postcolonial studies and attempts to present a story sensitive to issues of colonization, the book series fails to present a Western representation of the East outside of orientalist stereotypes and narratives that reinforce imperialism. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2016. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Naming and vocation in the novels of J.R.R. Tolkien, Patricia Kennealy and Anne McCaffreySkublics, Heather A. L. E. January 1994 (has links)
"Naming and Vocation in the Novels of J. R. R. Tolkien, Patricia Kennealy and Anne McCaffrey" discovers in recent works of fantasy and science fiction a pattern of authority which is rooted in the existence of namers and characters who are called to specific tasks. Each of these authors portrays individuals who are called to their own particular and unique roles by other figures whose knowledge of them is deeper than their own. The Biblical account of Samuel's life provides a paradigm for both namer and named that is informative in recognising this pattern in each of the works studied. The virtues essential to living out the call of a namer are faith and obedience; and personal fulfilment as well as heroic feats can only be achieved if those virtues are cultivated.

Culhwch & Lúthien : Keltisk mytologi i J. R. R. Tolkiens sagovärld / Culhwch & Lúthien : Celtic mythology in the fantasy world of J.R.R. TolkienEricsson, Emil January 2014 (has links)
This study investigates in what respects Celtic mythology influenced J. R. R. Tolkien when writing the sagas incorporated in the mythopoeic compilation of The Silmarillion. Through narrative and comparative analysis, stories from the Irish prose collection Lebor Gabála Érenn, as well as the Welsh medieval manuscript Mabinogion, are collated to the tales of The Silmarillion in order to illuminate possible influences. The survey showed that even though Tolkien expressed a certain distaste for everything Celtic, several elements of Irish and Welsh mythology are indeed visible in his works.
