Effet de la progestérone sur la réponse ventilatoire à l'hypoxie chez le rat en développement

Notre hypothèse est que la progestérone est un stimulant respiratoire chez le rat en développement. Nous avons établi, la courbe dose/réponse de la progestérone à différentes doses pour des rats de 4 et de 12 jours. Puis, nous avons étudié son effet à 4 mg/kg sur la réponse ventilatoire à l'hypoxie pour des rats de 1, 4, 7 et 12 jours. Dans chaque âge, 2 groupes de rats selon l'injection unique en intra-péritonéale de progestérone ou de solution saline ont subi des mesures par pléthysmographie de ventilation et de métabolisme en normoxie et en hypoxie. En normoxie, la progestérone à 4 mg/kg n'a pas d'effet sur la ventilation et le métabolisme, réduit la fréquence des apnées chez les 1 jour et l'augmente chez les 12 jours. En hypoxie, elle augmente la réponse ventilatoire d'une manière âge dépendante sans changer le métabolisme.
