  • The Global ETD Search service is a free service for researchers to find electronic theses and dissertations. This service is provided by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
Our metadata is collected from universities around the world. If you manage a university/consortium/country archive and want to be added, details can be found on the NDLTD website.

Utilizing Enhanced Acetolactate-Synthase Tolerant Soybean (Glycine max L.) to Mitigate Off-target Deposition of Penoxsulam and Bispyribac-Sodium

Walker, David Charles 10 August 2018 (has links)
Off-target deposition of herbicides to non-target plant species has been extensively studied and well documented over time. Off-target movement can often be detrimental to plant growth and yield. The geography of Mississippi is favorable for off-target herbicide deposition due to many crops existing in close proximity to differing crops such as soybeans (Glycine max L.) and rice (Oryza sativa L.). Therefore, research was conducted in each of three locations in Mississippi in 2016 and 2017 to determine if enhanced ALS-tolerant soybeans could be used to mitigate off-target deposition of rice herbicides penoxsulam and bispyribac-sodium. Results indicate that this technology (specifically BOLT soybean) can be utilized if herbicide residue is below 1/16X of the full labeled rate and is not deposited at V3 or early reproductive growth stages (R1-R4).

Development Planning and Poverty Reduction

Potts, David J., Ryan, Patrick, Toner, Anna L. January 2003 (has links)
No / The stated aim of much development assistance is the reduction of poverty. This book examines how development interventions might be more effectively targeted to achieve this aim. Part One provides an overview of planning for poverty reduction, and evidence on the extent and causes of poverty. Part Two examines participatory approaches to development planning. Part Three assesses macro-economic strategies and programs for poverty reduction. Part Four concludes with a microeconomic analysis of the distribution of benefits from investment projects

IN FLIGHT DATA REDUCTION FOR REDUCED BANDWIDTH TRANSMISSION

Hicks, William T. 11 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 30-November 02, 1995 / Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada / The desire to acquire large quantities of high speed vibration and acoustic data during aircraft testing is usually satisfied through on-board high speed recording methods. However there is often a need to have some of this data instantly available at the ground station for flight safety and other purposes. A Data Processor (DP) has been developed allowing an airborne data acquisition system to acquire large amounts of wideband analog data, process the data in real-time, and develop reduced bandwidth information from high bandwidth channels. The reduced data can be inserted into a Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) stream and telemetered via a Radio Frequency (RF) link with a potential for a 2000:1 reduction in bandwidth. This on-board processing capability also lends itself to additional tasks such as the generation of a reduced bandwidth marker channel which can flag critical time periods of data activity. This flagging technique can be used to facilitate ground station analysis of specific segments of data, resulting in significant cost and time savings.

Stereochemical Elucidation Of The Tetrahydro [2.2]paracyclophane System

Song, Ban-Huat 08 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this investigation is to study the Birch reduction products of [2.2lparacyclophane and of [2.2]paracyclophane- 2-carboxylic acid. The tetrahydro Birch reduction product of [2.2]paracyclophane is shown to be dl stereoisomer, with the olefins of the upper deck only partially overlapping with the olefins of the lower deck. This stereochemical elucidation is accomplished by means of a complete proton nmr analysis of the tetraepoxide derivative. A proposed mechanism supported by VB (valence bond) and MO (molecular orbital) theories for this Birch reduction process is presented.
