This is the ethical perspective proposed by Emmanuel Lévinas. Its fundamental aspects will thus be here presented as constituent elements of the human responsibility that charges the person as a task or an individual and inalienable mission, integrating the should be of the person. In order to have a better understanding and clearance on this new ethical perspective that embodies human responsibility on a structural level, one proposes firstly to locate the conjuncture (particular and historical) in which one can place the author s thoughts; secondly to put the basic matrices of the Judaic thought as possible influences in the Levinasian thinking; and lastly, to demonstrate the religious philosophical basis that found the author s ethical thought, according to himself / Esta dissertação pretende expor uma nova face da ética: A responsabilidade ética; vista como estrutura essencial e primordial do ser humano. Tal é a perspectiva ética proposta por Emmanuel Lévinas, cujos aspectos fundamentais apresentaremos como elementos integrantes da responsabilidade humana, que incumbe ao indivíduo como tarefa ou missão individual e intransferível inteirando o dever ser da pessoa. A fim de melhor compreender e clarificar sobre essa nova perspectiva ética que, engloba a responsabilidade humana de forma estrutural, propõe-se, de primeiro, localizar em que conjuntura (particular e histórica) se encontra o pensamento do autor; para, a seguir, colocar as matrizes básicas do pensamento judaico passível de influencia no pensar levinasiano; e, por último, demonstrar as bases filosóficas religiosas que fundamentam o pensamento ético do autor, segundo ele mesmo
