Esta dissertação investiga a construção da linguagem política nacionalista da Revista Brasiliense (1955 – 1964) a partir da relação entre a sociabilidade intelectual de esquerda e o discurso político proferido. A publicação foi criada pela Editora Brasiliense, de propriedade do historiador Caio Prado Júnior. O recorte temporal adotado corresponde aos anos de duração do periódico em questão, marcado pelo contexto de ascensão do discurso nacionalista em amplos setores da sociedade, entre os anos 1950 e 1960, e a crise deste projeto provocada pelo golpe civil-militar de 1964. Por meio da prosopografia, foram investigadas as características biográficas dos membros do conselho de redação e do diretor-responsável do periódico, Elias Chaves Neto. A partir deste grupo social, situou-se a relação entre os intelectuais de esquerda da Revista Brasiliense e o nacionalismo da época, aproximando-os dos debates propostos pelo Partido Comunista ao qual a maioria dos integrantes desta publicação era filiado. / This thesis investigates the construction of the nationalist political discourse of Revista Brasiliense (1955 - 1964) based on the connection between the intellectual sociability of the left and the political discourse uttered by such journal. The publication was created by Editora Brasiliense, owned by the historian Caio Prado Júnior. The period of time investigated in this study corresponds to the years during which Revista brasiliense was published, years that were marked by the rise of nationalist discourse in broad sectors of society from the 1950s and 1960s, and the crisis of this project caused by the 1964 civil-military coup. The biography of the journal’s director-in-charge, Elias Chaves Neto, as well as those of the members of its editorial board were investigated through prosopography. Starting from this social group, the connection between the left-wing intellectuals of Revista Brasiliense and the nationalism of the time could be situated, bringing them closer to the debates proposed by the Communist Party to which most of the subjects of this study were affiliated.
