Tools and other materials of the Paleolithic and Neolithic ages and also the rupestrian paintings can be observed. With more sophisticate tools and new techniques it could be possible to get more time for reflections. It arises rupestrian painting being presented as an enigma, sometimes theorized as magical utility, decoration. Communication of events and others that the aearcher know-how can bring. Many searches in all the word, nor in Brazil, rarely in Mato Grosso, where it is presented the rupestrian paintings in Barra do Garças and neighborhoods, one of the last tourism paradises. With field searches, pictures and verification of the degradation degree, it has happened the unleashing of action of Patrimonial Education, so that the future generations can know them and study them. / A evolução humana nos planos físico e mental foi acompanhada por uma evolução tecnológica, permitindo que o hominídeo pudesse satisfazer as exigências do sobreviver. Assim, observam-se instrumentos líticos lascados, de outros materiais, líticos polidos e finalmente as pinturas rupestres. De posse de instrumentos mais sofisticados, novas técnicas, o maior tempo livre trouxe espaço para a reflexão. Surgem as pinturas rupestres,apresentando-se como um enigma, ora teorizadas como utilidade mágica, ornamento estético, comunicação de eventos e outras que a bagagem do pesquisador possa trazer. Muito pesquisadas em todo o mundo, menos no Brasil e raramente em Mato Grosso, onde se apresenta a pintura rupestre de Barra do Garças e adjacências, um dos últimos paraísos do turismo. Com pesquisas de campo, fotografias e verificação do grau de degradação a que se submetem, urge o desencadeamento de ações de Educação Patrimonial, para que o futuro possa conhecê-las e estudá-las.
