O objetivo do estudo é analisar as relações mútuas entre a característica fundamental da base social desse sindicalismo - o fato de serem produtores autônomos, agricultores familiares - e a experiência de organização e representação de seus interesses no interior de uma central de trabalhadores, de forte inspiração socialista e operária. Para isso, o texto está organizado em três partes: na primeira é analisada a gênese dessa tradição sindical; na segunda é analisada a evolução dos traços fundamentais dessa tradição até seu momento de crise; na terceira são analisados fragmentos da tentativa de superação da crise do sindicalismo rural já nos anos noventa. O texto se conclui apresentando a tese de que estas características da base social do sindicalismo rural da CUT estão na base de uma série de reorientações que marcam uma nova etapa da história dos movimentos sociais rurais no Brasil, com um novo alinhamento das várias tendências, uma nova configuração das demandas, e uma revisão nas principais reivindicações. / Abstract:The object of this research is the brazilian rural tradeunionism, in particular, that portion of the rural tradeunionism organized at the Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT). The work focusing on the mutual relations between the tradeunionism fundamental characteristics - this workers are autonomous, family farmers - and the experience of organization and representation of their interests for an istitution strongly influenced by the socialist ideas. The text is organized in three moments: in the first part is analyzed the genesis of this tradeunionist tradition; the second part analyzes the evolution of the fundamental characteres of this tradition; the third part analyzes fragments in the tradeunions actions, in the 90s. Finaly, the text presents the ideia of that CUT rural tradeunionism fundamental characteres was the responsables by severous and important changes, meanning a new moment in the history of bazilian rural social mouvements with a new ordering envolving their severous forces, a new configuration of demands, and a revision in the main reivindications. / Universidade Estadual de Campi / Sociologia / Mestre em Sociologia
