Throughout this production we seek for the construction of the educators‟ identity, looking for to enclose the conferred importance of the professionalizing dimension. The process of professors‟ formation was discuss focusing on the reality of their daily practices. Historically, the world of the work led to the necessity of a space that could receive the infants, in which the day-care center, initially, was seen as space of social assistance; little by little passing to the scope of the education it gained space and got stronger in the National Politics. It‟s also reflected in this study the insufficience of the access to the high quality institutions, the access to the educators‟ formation, on the other hand it detaches the work that comes being carried through in the SOS-Kinderdorf Internacional -Paraíba in relation to the education of boys and girls, inhabitants of the neighbourhood, in the search for the stimulation to the independent development of its social relations. / Este trabalho é o resultado de um estudo de caso sobre a situação da formação dos professores da Educação Infantil e suas práticas numa Organização não Governamental (ONG), Aldeias Infantis SOS-Paraiba. Ao longo do trabalho busca-se a construção identitária dos educadores, procurando abranger a importância conferida à dimensão profissionalizante. Discutiu-se o processo de formação de professores, procurando focalizar a realidade, a partir do olhar sobre a sua prática cotidiana. Historicamente, o mundo do trabalho levou à necessidade de um espaço que pudesse receber os infantes, onde a creche, inicialmente, era vista como espaço de assistência social, aos poucos passando ao âmbito da educação ganhou espaço e fortalecimento nas Políticas Nacionais. Reflete-se, também, neste estudo sobre a insuficiência do acesso às instituições de qualidade, a formação dos educadores, destacando o trabalho que vem sendo realizado nas Aldeias Infantis SOS-Paraíba em relação à educação de meninos e meninas, moradores da circunvizinhança, na busca pelo estímulo ao desenvolvimento autônomo das suas relações sociais.
