This study to determine whether a planned set of interaction mediated by Behavior Analysis/Radical Behaviorism Literature between researcher and teachers could become a condition for favoring the learning of methodological resources to prioritize the scope of goals and guidelines laid down officially for the Teaching of Science. Over the past twenty-five years, the Behavioral Analysis sought, as theoretical orientation, scientifically, researching, inducing and propagating the need for advances in methodological resources mode for functional interpretations of relevant behavioral repertoires in clinical setting and schools. A prominent feature of this study in relation to their potential and refinement is the Descriptive Functional Assessment, which included a sequence becoming possible to record and prioritize proposal for intervention in the teaching environment during routine classes. This study highlights the need for production and acquisition of professional knowledge teachers whit different degrees (Pedagogy and Natural Sciences, in this case), objectively the continuing education of teachers in service, methodological resources that aim to understand interpretations of professor - student functional interactions in the classroom. The adopted research methodology was the Qualitative Research Prize in Design of Case study One (single case design), N = 1 and / or subject as its own control. The planned set of interactions suggest that there is an inability to commit teaching learning difficulties in students' repertoires, under conditions of education that they should express expected behaviors. After the contact with the videos of episodes of education defined in this study, the teachers report was: (a) recurrence of verbal behavior devoid of functions that provid information on their teaching repertoire, (b) no distinction between teaching... Latinos, libraries and electronic resources

Mestre, Lori S 01 January 2000 (has links)
Responsiveness to a diverse population is a pressing issue for higher education today. The need to develop more connections with users from all areas is of growing importance in college and university libraries, especially in areas of computer access and skills. In an attempt to learn of the attitudes and experiences of Latino college students toward learning and using computer applications in an academic library, a two year, primarily qualitative study was conducted with Latinos as participants at one university. As a precursor to this research, a pilot study was conducted using in-depth phenomenological interviewing to learn what it was like for Latinos to use an academic library. Following the analysis of the pilot study, further research was conducted and data were gathered from field notes, observations, group discussions and e-mail journal responses from Latinos enrolled in two courses: an introductory course, Internet for Latino Studies, taught by a Latino professor, and an introductory Essentials of Library Research course, which I taught. Supporting data were gathered through 14 interviews and a survey questionnaire. Out of 137 questionnaires distributed to classes with a high concentration of Latino students, 129 were returned completed. The data were analyzed according to themes and findings are discussed in terms of their implications for librarians and educators. Findings include the following: (1) Social class and cultural capital were found to be more significant than ethnicity or language dominance in library use, comfort in the library, and asking for assistance from library personnel. (2) Latinos, in general, reported performing better and being more motivated when there was a supportive environment with a caring teacher/librarian who treated them as “a friend.” (3) Latinos reported the need for information to be presented in a way that was personally or culturally relevant to them. (4) Latinos were found to use nonverbal communication as an important means for transmitting and interpreting messages. Included in the final chapter of this study are implications and suggestions for improving library instruction to better accommodate differences in computer experience, learning styles, classroom environment and communication.

Cloud-based Knowledge Management in Greek SME’s

Dimitrios, Rekleitis January 2018 (has links)
Nowadays, Cloud Technologies are commonly used for a lot of large organizations to aid knowledge sharing.  This brings some benefits to the organization by reducing the cost of the charges, improve security, enhance content accessibility, improve efficiency etc. On the other hand, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) tend to manage their information in more informal way by not using the specific language or terminology of KM. Moreover, Small and Medium enterprises do not trust the adoption of cloud-based techniques for managing information for many reasons that discussed later. This thesis tries to provide the benefits and drawbacks of cloud-based Knowledge Management techniques in Greek SMEs and also to find how knowledge processes are used in Greek SMEs according to cloud-based Knowledge Management techniques. Also, through this work I will come up with the benefits and drawbacks of applying cloud-based techniques for managing information-knowledge in SMEs. To accomplish this, I derived with a methodology that is based on qualitative approach. More specifically, I provide an exhaustive literature review and then I contacted with five SMEs in Greece to explore, using different techniques, if these SMEs can benefit from the cloud-based Knowledge Management techniques and how indent are for adopting cloud-based Knowledge Management techniques in their organization. I realized that three of the SMEs are using cloud-based techniques for Knowledge Management, where the two of them does not. To be more specific one of these two SMEs does not manage its knowledge at all. However, all of the five organizations showed a great interest to adopt cloud-based and information system technologies for Knowledge Management. At the end, this work comes up with the following important findings and insights, as well: Cloud-based Knowledge Management techniques can bring a lot of benefits in terms of cost savings and performance. However, this suits the right and efficiently use of cloud-based techniques. The lack of using efficiently cloud-based Knowledge Management techniques may lead to some drawbacks, such as reduction on the performance of the organization and reduction on the savings.   This thesis also discusses some points for future direction such as the analysis of a larger space of organizations, the investigation of quantitative analysis and also the combination of both (qualitative and quantitative).
