lt;p align="justify"gt; The research was accomplished at Municipal Schools of São João Evangelista, having for objective analyze the Program of School Alimentation, observing if the menu is regionalizing and offers market for the small rural producer, in a sustenable proposal. This research belongs to the descriptive, exploratory kind with qualitative and quantitative approach. The investigated sample it constituted for draw. They were lifted the data through the participating observation, questionnaires and interviews. The data revealed an administration active participation in which the children evaluated positively the snack, the employees recognized the importance of an alimentation that praises healthy habits and regionalizing, besides contemplating the diversity of existing regional food, could contribute for the improvement of life quality of the children and school young people. regarding the insert possibility of the small rural producer in the market of the school snack, it verified that there is great possibility, once that the actions will be able to occur inside the legal aspects of the purchases system and inside a policy of local development. It concludes that the proposal of local development, with the participation of the Program of School Alimentation is perfectly viable inside the municipal district of São João Evangelista - Minas Gerais.lt;/pgt; / lt;p align="justify"gt; A pesquisa foi realizada nas Escolas Municipais de São João Evangelista, tendo por objetivo analisar o Programa de Alimentação Escolar, observando se o cardápio é regionalizado e se oferece mercado para o pequeno produtor rural, numa proposta de sustentabilidade. Esta pesquisa é do tipo descritiva, exploratória com abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa. A amostra investigada constituiu-se por sorteio. Foram levantados os dados através da observação participante, questionários e entrevistas. Os dados revelaram uma gestão participativa em que as crianças avaliaram positivamente a merenda, os funcionários reconheceram a importância de uma alimentação que preconize hábitos saudáveis e regionalizados, além de contemplar a diversidade de alimentos regionais existentes, podendo contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade de vida das crianças e jovens escolares. Quanto à possibilidade de inserção do pequeno produtor rural no mercado da merenda escolar, constatou-se que existe grande possibilidade, uma vez que as ações poderão ocorrer dentro dos aspectos legais do sistema de compras e dentro de uma política de desenvolvimento local. Conclui-se que uma proposta que articule o desenvolvimento local, com a participação do Programa de Alimentação Escolar, é perfeitamente viável dentro do município de São João Evangelista – Minas Gerais.lt;/pgt;
