An active retirement community center of calligraphy art

Guo, Ying 27 August 2012 (has links)
The Chinese government has long assumed that families will bear the social and health care burden of the older population. However, this is becoming increasingly difficult and is hardly a model of care that can be sustained with the projected growth of the older demographic. Since the late 1970s, China has successfully controlled the population growth by applying the One-Child Policy. However, its byproduct, the “4-2-1 problem”, along with the unavoidable trends of globalization and migration, means that older generations must often rely on themselves, and not their children or grandchildren, for care and support. To prepare for this challenge – the weakening of traditional filial piety – this proposal of an active retirement community centre for calligraphy art reflects a desire for a new way of living during the second half of life. Instead of viewing old age as a residual period, this proposal sets the stage for older adults to continue their contributions as they age. Calligraphy performance as a traditional cultural activity offers older adults a great balance between activity and leisure, caring for the body and caring for the soul. Additionally, the artistic quality of calligraphy art is used to express and convey ideas for the design process.

Tinkering Care Moves : Senior Home Care in Practice

Lutz, Peter A. January 2016 (has links)
This dissertation builds on the current anthropological studies of care relations in practice. It draws inspiration from science and technology studies (STS) and postfeminist technoscience. A qualitative ethnographic approach grounds the empirical data collection and analysis. This entails ethnographic fieldwork with senior home care in the United States and Sweden during 2007–2008 and 2011–2012. Analytical attention centers on how movements situate various tensions of senior home care in practice. Four interrelated published works comprise the main thematic chapters. Each article exemplifies how human and nonhuman relations move and mediate care. They develop several heuristic terms that advance ideas about how older people, aging bodies, technologies, spaces, and times that tinker each other through movements of care in practice. The comprehensive summary frames these articles with an overview of the primary thematic orientations and methodological concerns. A discussion of the main contributions and implications of the dissertation concludes the work.

Psychosociální problematika stravování seniorů / Psychosocial issues of nourishment of the elderly

Šaldová, Kristýna January 2019 (has links)
V ANGLICKÉM JAZYCE The diploma thesis deals with psychosocial problems of seniors' alimentation. The theoretical part focuses on the area of health, healthy lifestyle of elderly people, and also on the diseases and physical problems typical for old age. The geriatric syndromes, which occur in old age, as well as psychosocial aspects of the nutrition of seniors, are described there. The fourth chapter presents up-to-date documents that are closely related to alimentation. The nutrition of seniors is a crucial chapter of the whole thesis, because it describes how the alimentation of seniors is carried out in the home environment and how in residential care. The aim of the last chapter in the theoretical part is to present to the reader the "Domov ANNA", where the research survey (which is a part of the thesis) was realized at the beginning of the year 2019. The survey was carried out using a questionnaire method among clients of the above-mentioned "Domov ANNA" and also seniors living at home in Český Brod. The aim of the research was to find out if the elderly in residential care have better (more varied and balanced) diet in comparison with the elderly who live and eat at home and how psychosocial and economic factors influence the quality of their nutrition.

Důvody seniorů ovlivňující jejich vstup do Domova pro seniory. / The senior´s reasons having the influence to their entrance to the House for retired people.

OUŘEDNÍKOVÁ, Zuzana January 2010 (has links)
Nowadays, we are facing the challenge of meeting the future needs of the elderly because our society has been ageing gradually which results in an increasing number of people reaching retirement age. This brings about many difficulties, one of which being inability to care for themselves in their own households. This situation leads to the fact that seniors decide to leave their own homes for Senior Homes. In this thesis, I deal with the reasons leading to that decision. In the theoretical part I focused on the issue of old age and aging, the changes occurring during this period and factors that may influence seniors´ decision to move to a Senior Home. The methodology of this thesis was based on a qualitative research strategy. To obtain the necessary information to the research, interrogation technique of a semi-structured interview was used. The objective was to find out the reasons that influence seniors´ decision to start living in a Senior Home. The research was carried out in the Senior Home in Humpolec. The outcomes of this thesis may increase public awareness of this issue.

Důsledky přijetí zákona o sociálních službách na činnost konkrétního zařízení / Consequence of the approval of the Law on Social Services for the operation of a specific facility

NOVOTNÝ, Miroslav January 2008 (has links)
This paper was prepared with the goal of mapping the changes brought by the Law on Social Services, no. 108/2006 Coll., in a specific facility. It was developed from the prospective of the personnel of a senior home. In the theory part, this work focuses first on the definition of the social services themselves, which factors affect them and their importance for the public. The next chapter, named Development of the Legislation of the Public Social Protection System, clarifies the transfer from social security to public social protection. Another chapter is devoted to the legislation attempting to create a comprehensive legal form, which would replace the at that time unsatisfactory social care system. The following chapters characterize, in detail, the individual parts of the new social services law, what will be influence by this law, for example the standards of quality of the social services, its check in form of an inspection from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs or a Municipal Authority. This paper also gradually focuses on the new social benefit, its purpose, amount, for whom it is designed and when the right for its payment arises. The Social Services Law is, towards the end of the theory part of this paper, the subject of a critical evaluation in the form of a SWAT analysis. Two hypotheses have been determined to meet the goal of this paper. A questionnaire survey and non-standardized interview were used during the research. The research sample was the nursing and social personnel of the Senior Home in Sněženková ulice in Prague. The questionnaire investigation and the non-standardized interviews confirmed hypothesis no. 1, which holds the opinion that, due to the influence of the social services law, the work demands on the management of the individual social services facilities will grow. The research also corfirmed hypothesis no. 2, which presumes the growth of the nursing care due to the change of the system of financing the social services and the consequent changes of client structure. Furthermore, it was proven that the law can meet its main mission {--} the preventive influence against social exclusion.

Pečovatelská služba ve spojení s domácí zdravotní péčí jako veřejný zájem a základní pilíř péče o seniory v České republice / Social care in conjunction with home care as public interest and basic pillar of elderly care in Czech Republic

Dušková, Kateřina January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with the security system care services and other related services, including informal care for seniors in the Czech Republic. The aim of the work is to evaluate, describe and offer a closer understanding of nursing as a basic social care service in connection with the principle of shared care in a natural home environment for seniors as the ideal form of care for the elderly at present and due to the demographic development in the future. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part covers three main topics: day care service system in the Czech Republic, seniors as a target group of caring and sharing and municipalities and their role in caring for the elderly. The practical part is devoted to the research, which focuses on the relationship of care services and communities from the perspective of potential service users, ie. the elderly. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods is used in the research and interprets the results of the survey conducted among the elderly in three senior clubs in Prague 17. The research complements the findings mentioned in the theoretical part.
