The topic of the master's thesis is about transmission of multimedia via network with help of compression’s algorithm used in codec MPEG-4 part 10 and Real Time Protocol (RTP). First part of this master thesis will be familiarization with basic terms about multimedia. It will be queried about techniques of compression axioms for audio and video, justification for necessary use of compression in transmitting multimedia via network. Also, here will be subscribed principles and properties of Real Time Protocol, which was designed for multimedia stream. From the start, competent codec for implementation of two applications (client, server) with read raw video and audio data, will choose the following : compression with help of codec Theora (Vorbis), transfer via network in RTP packets, decode and play at visual form for end user. Complete subscription of implementation for both applications written in programming languages C/C++ and Java, will be certain. The basic overview about this problematic experience with implementation, which were here concluded, are the reasons for reading this master thesis.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of proxy servers and firewalls and considers other associated technologies and network techniques. It systematically describes the general issues of firewalls, with a special focus on proxy firewalls and their safety. Additional systems mentioned in this document are intrusion detection systems (IDS), antivirus systems and content control filters – as these are also connected with safety of networks, servers and workstations or with limiting various Internet sources. IDS systems can be typically supplemented with various additional applications or tools that enrich them and increase their potential – including graphic additions. This part is remembered too. Some systems can communicate with each other, which is successfully utilised (FW & IDS co-operation, for example). The purpose of the first large chapter is to present firewall technologies, to list firewall types, their basic functionality and to present the final comparison. It marginally mentions firewall applications in practice. Chapter two explains the theory of network address translation (NAT), deals with its functionality, safety and with limiting the NAT mechanism. Chapter three brings a comprehensive presentation of proxy servers. It explains their principle from the point of view of functionality and the specification of application areas. The chapter is complete with a clear list of proxy server types and their descriptions. The last chapter named Linux Proxy Firewall is the key part of the work. It deals generally with the Linux platform, the Debian GNU/Linux distribution, principles of safety policy, network configuration, network server safety, Linux firewalls (Netfilter framework, Iptables tool) and with the Squid proxy server. The following subchapters respect the previous structure: they describe the theories of intrusion detection systems, antivirus checks and content filtering based on different methods. All this is presented similarly to the previous chapters. A proxy firewall solution built on the Linux operating system has been proposed in the practical part. The Debian GNU/Linux distribution has been chosen, being very suitable for server use due to its features. This environment is also used for additional safety software contained in the proxy firewall: antivirus protection, content filtering and an intrusion detection system. The priority is the most comprehensive computer network security, which requires detection abilities with the broadest possible coverage in the area of network safety. The purpose of this diploma thesis is not only to describe the principle of operation of proxy servers and to compare them with other types and other systems, but it also brings my own proposed free solution, which increases network safety and has the ambition of comparing it with clearly commercial products available on the market.

This master’s thesis contains design of laboratory stand for learning programming microcontrollers. Stand is equipped with two Rabbit modules, which are connected together over local area network. Exercises are focused on working with basic peripheries as digital inputs and outputs,PWM modulation, serial communication. Exercises are interested in evaluation of matrix keyboard and communication with alphanumeric display controller. With the ability to easy access the Internet some exercises are designed for work with this interface. To these exercises is made a preparation of external peripherals. Through these peripherals there can be can be controlled DC motors, step motor, binary outputs and inputs. Each lab exercise contains an introduction, task, instructions and the flowchart of realized exercise. Instructions are written so that it contains important steps to properly manage assignments. Individual exercises are designed to gradually increasing complexity of exercises.

The thesis is involves the desing antispam solution for operating system GNU/Linux. At the first is going through theory of transport, receive mail message and problematic of spam. The content of thesis is realize mail server with mail transfer agent Postfix. Amavis was used as antispam solution, which make an interface between Postfix and content checkers. The thesis contains a complete theoretical overview of high availability technologies in Microsoft SQL Server. For each technology, guidance is provided for the deployment of technologies. Technologies are analyzed from a security perspective, they are determined advantages and disadvantages of using technology in practice and is determined the optimal variant of use of the technology. High availability technology are compared with each other and is given the availability of individual technologies in versions of MS SQL Server. The thesis contains three scenarios with practical examples of using technology for high availability in practice. It provides an analysis of high-availability features in Oracle and are subsequently compared high availability features in Oracle environments with high availability technology in MS SQL Server.

This diploma thesis contains detailed design of high-performance cluster, primarely focused for parallel computing in Octave application. Each of component of this cluster is described along with instructions for installation and configuration. Cluster is based on GNU/Linux operating system and Message Parsing Interface. Design alllows implementation of this cluster in computers of schoolroom with active lessons.

In the thesis, different ways to approach special interest groups are discussed, as well as different means of advertising services to these groups. The thesis concludes in several proposals, that may result in the company growth.
