This relationship is understood here in a perspective of wholeness as a manifestation of social issues, conceived in the relationship between capital and labor. The apprehension of violence in the context of the school assumed the analysis of social policy education, the conceptions about the violence, values and school, as well as the context of the northwest region of the Goiania, where the school is located. They present the propositions of the school (students, teachers and administrators) for the confrontation of violence in schools, as well as programs developed in schools aimed at coping. These propositions and programs raised in the discussion about the legacy of safety and its prevalence in school, as well, in the possibility of formation of students as subjects of their history has been designed to contribute to studies on the relationship established between violence and school, understanding them in their ambiguity. / Esta dissertação é um estudo sobre a relação violência e escola. Esta relação é aqui entendida numa perspectiva de totalidade como uma manifestação da questão social, gestada na relação capital e trabalho. A apreensão da violência no contexto da escola pressupôs a análise da política social de educação, das concepções à cerca de violência, valores e escola, bem como, do contexto da região noroeste de Goiânia onde se localiza a escola. Apresentam-se as proposições da escola (alunos, professores e gestores) para o enfretamento da violência no contexto escolar, bem como, os programas desenvolvidos na escola que visam seu enfrentamento. Tais proposições e programas suscitaram na discussão sobre o legado da segurança e sua prevalência na escola, bem como, na possibilidade da constituição dos estudantes como sujeitos de sua história. Tem-se como objetivo contribuir para os estudos a respeito das relações que se estabelecem entre violência e escola, compreendendo-as em suas ambiguidades.
