(Ne)išpildytos vietos / (Un)fulfilled places

Jakas, Algirdas 03 July 2014 (has links)
Print cycle of unfinished soviet era buildings - objects. As example there could be "House of soviets" in Kaliningrad by means of construction unfinished building. In pair to him stands "House of Soviets" in St. Petersburg, in this case building unfinished mentaly. I'm trying to be that engineer who finishes these objects on paper.

A State in Limbo: Afghanistan, Warlords and International Intervention (1979-1992, post-2001)

Krow, Matilka 15 August 2001 (has links)
This thesis examines approaches taken towards warlords and militias during the current U.S.-led intervention in Afghanistan and that of the Soviet/Najibullah period analysing their impact on key state formation dynamics and state-building efforts. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the study finds that while the current intervention has seen its warlord and militia strategies produce generally negative results, the past Soviet intervention can arguably claim some partial successes. Though these partial successes provided an “exit strategy”, they did not aid in the state-building efforts or regime stabilization goals that had been Moscow’s initial and primary goals. The study also point to the problematic omission of actors and social groupings, such as warlords and militias, in state-building theory, and shows how security goals as typically addressed in state-building need not be synonymous or conducive to the primitive accumulation of force that spurred dependency relationships in past state formation.

Ponce Gregorio, Pedro 05 November 2018 (has links)
It would be september the second of 1931, on a private letter dispatched by some B. Breslow acting as Comercial Representative of the URSS in France, when Le Corbusier received the invitation to participate in the contest of the one that would be for many the essential building of the country, the Palace of the Soviets in Moscow. A building that for that matter would not only enbodies russian¿s working class will, but also should become in the same way, there where the Salvador cathedral was built, the artistic-architectural monument of the still struggling soviet capital. This and not else is the point in which the actual text it is enrolled: on the developed by the project inside the number 35 of the Rue de Sèvres in Paris, with the objective of dusting off some of the key aspects of that first creative track blurred by history. As territorialidades sovietes da Revolução Russa 1905-1921: elementos de uma interpretação geográfica / The Soviets territorialities of Russian Revolution 1905-1921: elements of a geographical interpretation

Oliveira, Erivaldo Costa de 12 July 2012 (has links)
The present research is a geographical approach of the Russian revolution. More precisely it is focused on the soviets movement within that social disruption, whose time frame lies between 1905 and 1921 and, its spatial ambit, the territory of the ancient tsarist empire. Therefore, this work starts from the assumption that the councils movement that emerged during the revolutionary conjuncture, in Russian territorial formation , represented the engendering of new territorialities, in a scenery of dwindling of the state-owned territoriality. In this perspective, our dissertation still considers that the soviets territorialities were important strategic axis that the Bolsheviks, as agents of the disruption, mobilized to reassertion of State authority, within the geographical ambit of the ancient tsarist sovereignty.
