An Architecture of the Body: The Garden Spa

Choe, Michelle H. 24 June 2013 (has links)
The Garden Spa explores the healing and sensual qualities of a space. It offers a place of relaxation for the body to be restored through an atmosphere of tranquility. The spa rooms are an intimate place of rest, and the garden is a place to wander through sculptural forms. Curvilinear forms are used to bring pleasure to the eye and touch, creating harmonies with the body / Master of Architecture

Tvorba moderního MVC frameworku v prostředí Node.js

Jámbor, Roman January 2018 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with design and creation of framework for modern web applications. The goal of the thesis is to create a fast, modern and modular MVC framework designed to create modern SPA-like web applications that has all the advantages of SPA but minimize or completely eliminate its disadvantages. The theoretical part explores existing MV* frameworks mainly from Node.js, but also from PHP or ASP.NET. It also deals with the analysis of the requirements for modern web frameworks to incorporate the technologies that are really used or replace bad or obsolete ones. The work itself deals with the design and implementation of the new MVC framework for Node.js, including the client part and some development support tools. An integral part of the thesis is the creation of a sample application in the created framework. At the end of the thesis there is summary of the created solution and the results of the comparison.

Measurement and Analysis of the Standby Power of Twenty-Seven Portable Electric Spas

Hamill, Andrew Ian 01 September 2012 (has links) (PDF)
Portable electric spas are typically the largest electrical load in homes that have one. In recent years, the California Energy Commission’s California code of regulations, Title 20 has been revised to regulate the maximum allowable standby power for a portable electric spa based on the spa volume. The goal of this regulation is to require improvements to the lowest performing models, for which simple and cost effective improvements are readily available, without eliminating average or better performing products. In this research, the standby power of twenty seven portable electric spas was measured and compared to the Title 20 requirement. These tests resulted in nine of the twenty seven spas not meeting the allowable standby power. Analysis demonstrates that simple and inexpensive improvements to these nine spas would likely cause the spas to pass the Title 20 requirement. Additionally, temperature normalization developed in this research have been adopted by the California Energy Commission and included in revisions to Title 20.

Tångbrunnen / Tångbrunnen

Grönmark, Lydia January 2023 (has links)
Tångbrunnen is a hybrid program-building made with the purpose of creating a “house for the people”. The space combines spas, restaurants, kelp production, conference centres and co-working areas, located by Nickstaviken, Nynäshamn. The hybrid program is tied together by kelp, which serves multiple purposes in the spas and restaurant. The kelp is farmed nearby in Nickstaviken where it contributes to the fight against eutrophication in the baltic sea while also aiding the natural habitat of the aquatic fauna. The kelp is continuously harvested and processed at Tångbrunnen through drying, curing and cooking to be made into skin care and food products which are utilised in the centre or packaged and sold in Tångbrunnens shop. The site is located on the slope of Nickstahöjden leading down to the bay. The building connects with the landscape by a boardwalk which runs along the south eastern side of the building. In the project the bay also contains the addition of a wetland park which seeks to minimise the risk of flooding while also increasing biodiversity in the area. Wood is the main construction material of the centre, which is supported by glue laminated columns. There are three main floors. The ground floor houses the foyer and spa. Floor 1 contains the restaurant which has two attached outdoor patios as well as the co-working spaces and kelp processing areas. The final top floor contains organisational offices and the conference centres. The floors are tied together by a large staircase with views overlooking Nickstaviken as well as the wetland park.

Revolução bolivariana e ofensiva socialista na Venezuela /

Scartezini, Natalia. January 2012 (has links)
