Environmental index and indicators are important mechanisms for report summarized information about the state of Watershed. The choice of the Watershed as a territorial management unit in this study was based on Law 9,433/97, while the use of index and indicators is because its proven efficiency in management processes. Therefore, was prepared an Environmental Sustainability Index of Watershed (ISABH) that integrated social, economic and environmental information to analyze the sustainability of these territorial management units and serve as a comparison tool between the Watershed. Furthermore, we evaluated the spatial correlation between the Micro-Watersheds to identify patterns or groups that can facilitate public management of these units. Within the adopted dimensions, indicators and index were selected considering the territorial bases defined by the limits of the municipal census tracts as well as the outline of the Micro-Watersheds. In this case, the index favored the variables that could generate a spatial distribution of surface data along the Watershed. To study the ISABH was choose the Una River Watershed, which is located in the State of São Paulo, approximately 75km from the capital of São Paulo, in the city of Ibiúna. From the results, was found that the lowest values of ISABH occur on south of the watershed and are inserted in the rural city of Ibiúna/SP under the influence of agricultural activities and poor sanitation conditions. Still, these areas have high rates of illiteracy and income per capita lower of the residents. Furthermore, only 19.4% of the study area shows of ISABH values equal or above 0.60, indicating a reasonable quality, far from desirable, i.e, greater than 0.9. Regarding water quality, was verified a low concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water bodies, i.e, below those permitted by law, especially in areas where the presence of agricultural activities are intense. About the loss of nutrients (fertility), it can be checked that there is a phosphorus deficiency in the watershed soil due to loss of this nutrient by water erosion, resulting in a high cost for their replacement in the study area. This index proved to be an important tool to provide input to the formulation of public policies and provide support to decision-making by public and private actors.

Hluková mapa v GIS / Noise map in GIS

Keršner, Oldřich January 2009 (has links)
The aim of this Master’s Thesis is noise map creation and processing of measured data using ArcView 9.2 and its extensions. One - year Student Edition of ArcView 9.2 and its extensions have been provided by ARCDATA PRAHA, s.r.o. Noise maps are created from measured data in the neighborhood of the faculty building and the Moravian Square in Brno. Measurement of geographic position of measuring points is realized by GPS. For creation of noise maps, analysis and processing of measured data ArcGIS extensions - Spatial Analyst and Geostatistical Analyst were used. The last part of this Master’s Thesis is specialized on creation of 3D landscape model using ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension.

Using GIS and LiDAR DTMs to Characterize Terrain Features associated with Gopher Tortoise (Gopherus Polyphemus) Burrows

Mosley, Robert Luke 14 August 2015 (has links)
Limited knowledge exists of the terrain variables that have an influence on gopher tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus) burrow locations. Previous studies suggest that terrain features may play a role in preference of burrow location. LiDAR- (Light Detection and Ranging) derived terrain features can be evaluated through GIS (Geographic Information System) analysis at a fine spatial scale. LiDAR data acquired at 0.5 meter post spacing over three locations on Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, MS were used to develop DTMs (Digital Terrain Models) for use in burrow site characterization. Terrain variables (e.g. elevation, slope, aspect) were developed from the LiDAR DTM in ArcGIS. Burrows and randomly allocated non-burrow points were used in logistic regression analysis to model the relationship between burrow occurrence and terrain features. Four models correctly classified more than 83% of the burrow locations. The R2 were 34.83%, 49.31%, 28.09%, and 31.51%.

Rastrová analýza pro GIS nástroj ArcGIS / A Set of Raster Analysis Tools for ArcGIS

Hupšil, Radim January 2008 (has links)
This project is about studying geographic information system ArcGIS. It focuses on possibilities of extending ArcGIS by custom extensions and method of their programming. Furthermore some basic tools of raster analysis are ilustrated. This project's main objective is to design and implement custom implementation of ArcGIS extension, which provides a set of tools for raster analysis. Design is inspired by an existing extension - Spatial Analyst developed by ESRI.
