This thesis provides an overview of how students identified as having learning disabilities prepare for school at home. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on the general terms, which are related to the general learning disabilities, their aetiology and manifestations of each single specific learning disability. Furthermore, it deals with counselling support to parents and their children with learning disabilities, the diagnostics and the re-education of specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part also contains the concept how to work with these students at home and the importance of parent participation. This part is also focused on the psycho hygienic possibilities and methodology of home-preparation of the children with learning difficulties. The main objective of the practical part was to find out how children with learning disabilities prepare for school at home. The quantitative method of investigation was used in this research.

This diploma thesis is focused on self-concept and emotional aspects of pupils with specific learning disabilities. Specific learning disabilities not only complicate pupils' educational process but they also have an influence on their self-evaluation. The theoretical part of this paper explains terms connected to this topic as they are given in the literature. The aim is to provide the reader with the basic information about this issue. The practical part is dedicated to the actual research. The aim was to compare pupils with specific learning disabilities and pupils without any specific learning disabilities. This part of the paper contains the aims and hypothesis, the characteristic of researched sample, it lists methods used to collect data and it is concluded with analyses and interpretation of the obtained data.

The aim of this work is to introduce a new assessment method of children's cognitive abilities, the Cognitive Assessment System 2, to examine its criterion concurrent validity in a population of children with special educational needs and analyze the test profiles of these children. In the theoretical part of the work various assessment tools of children's cognitive abilities are presented. The Cognitive Assessment System 2 is also introduced. In the empirical part concurrent criterion validity of the CAS2 is examined via the correlation between the results of CAS2 and the results of other commonly used intelligence tests - it is examined on a sample of children with specific learning disabilities and children with below- average intelligence or mental retardation. The test profiles of children from both groups are analyzed. It was found that the overall scores in the method CAS2 highly correlate with total scores of the WISC-III in a group of children with a below-average intelligence and mental retardation, and with total scores of the WISC-III or the K-ABC in a group of children with specific learning disabilities. Diploma thesis deals with application of supportive measures in the education of pupils with dysgraphia from the perspective of teachers at the second stage of primary school. It aims to a recommendation that a teacher can support provided to students with dysgraphia. It will bring teachers' insight into the use of selected support measures for pupils with dysgraphia. The theoretical part of the description of the education of pupils with special educational needs, especially with a focus on support measures, further recording of problems with learning disabilities, where there is more space for imprisonment of dysgraphia and application of support measures for pupils with dysgraphia at the 2nd level. The empirical part contains qualitative research, which enables methods of semi-structured interview. Subsequently, it is possible to analyze the data using open coding. Research questions and formulation recommendations that may be available in practice are answered. The diploma thesis focuses on persistent primary reflexes in younger school age children, their connection with the correct psychomotor development and insight ainto the connection of specific learning and behavioral disorders with persistent primary reflexes. In the theoretical part, the author describes the psychomotor development of a child based on the findings of developmental psychology and neurophysiology. The next part characterizes the primary reflexes and their influence on specific learning disabilities. At the end of the theoretical part, the author presents programs that are used to inhibit persistent primary reflexes in the Czech republic. In the empirical part of the work, the author describes the diagnosis implementation of persistent primary reflexes in younger school age children via test forms. The author presents the results using tables and graphs. The author confirms the assumption of the occurence of the highest values of persistent primary reflexes in the preparátory class children and states the percentage occurence of persistent primary reflexes in all tested groups. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with possible adjustments to the education of pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLD) throughout primary school of the main educational system. The theoretical part defines specific learning disabilities, their aetiology, and psychological impacts of SLD on the pupils, their school performance and family. Attention is paid to the counselling system, intervention services in schools, and the most frequently used approaches. The empirical part of the work combines the quantitative and qualitative research. It was determined, using a questionnaire survey, what forms and methods of teaching and intervention approaches are provided to pupils. The questionnaire was also concerned with the number of pupils with special educational needs in classes, and the representation of special counsellor and psychologists in school counselling. The piece of the research part is an example of good practice in primary school. The results of this work demonstrate the extent of interventional approaches, and adjustments of education, that can help students with SLD to meet their educational goals, as well as they demonstrate the representation of these experts in school counselling centres in more than in half of the schools surveyed. The thesis thematically focuses on the prevention of specific learning disabilities in preschool children. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes the development of a child in preschool age and individual types of specific learning disabilities. Thereafter, the possibilities of screening and diagnostics of individuals at risk of specific learning disabilities and concrete diagnostic and preventive methods used in the Czech environment are presented. The aim of the diploma thesis is to create a program to prevent the emergence of specific learning disabilities, through the selection of activities aimed at the progress of individual areas of development and partial functions, especially those which are found by the research to be the least developed. The basis for the creation of a prevention program consists of data obtained in the diagnosis of the level of partial functions in preschool children and experience gained during targeted work with children at risk of developing SLD. The present diploma thesis examines the support of reading literacy in pupils with specific learning disabilities. Theoretical chapters are engaged in defining the specific learning disorders, aetiology of the same, individual types of learning disabilities, diagnostics and options of re-education and intervention. Further, the theoretical part delves into the educational system and legislation in the Czech Republic, primary education centred around the framework educational programme for this level of education, inclusion and advisory systems in schools and school advisory facilities. The influence of social climate in classroom on a self-concept of pupils with specific learning disabilities. The aim of the thesis was to outline the problems of the self-concept of pupils with specific learning disabilities in the classroom social climate. The thesis has the form of an overview study followed by a research probe into the given problems. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of the following main terms based on the literature studied: specific learning disabilities, self-concept, social climate in the classroom. Furthermore, symptoms of the specific learning disabilities and their impact on the self-concept of pupils within the social climate in the classroom are described. The practical part of the thesis deals with the research probe. The research sample is represented by seven classes of 7th and 8th grade pupils from two Central Bohemia schools and three Prague schools. The research probe has the form of a non-standard survey study. In conclusion, the necessity of further research in the area is emphasized.
