Nukleární společnost Spojené státy v letech 1945-1964 / Nuclear Society - United States of America 1945 - 1964

Ulvr, Michal January 2012 (has links)
Michal Ulvr Abstract It was the near-end of the Second World War, which defined the popular reception of the Atomic bomb for upcoming decade. In the first year of the nuclear monopoly, the feeling of uncertainty and fear of death in the nuclear war was not yet present in strength. The mood of relative safety dominated the American society till the fall of the monopoly in 1949. Since the first atomic explosion occurred in the USSR, the atmosphere of fear, that never faded back and was latent since August and September 1945, made an exuberant appearance in press and other media. Suddenly, the American government made (after years of neglect) a great effort to calm down the uncertainty of the public. A Federal Civil Defense Administration was established at the end of 1950 and provided more or less useful information, propaganda, material and logistical support for a war with the Soviet Union, which was expected to come sooner or later. Plenty of educational and propaganda pamphlets, books and training films were produced in determination to make it clear, that survival under nuclear attack was possible. And indeed, at that time, there was even a good chance, that keeping some basic survival rules in mind an individual could come out of a nuclear attack relatively unscathed. Administration even tried to...

Anxiozita dětí jako jeden z minoritních vlivů na prevalenci zubního kazu / Children's dental fear as a minority factor in caries prevalence

Vašáková, Jana January 2021 (has links)
Dental caries is a preventable multifactorial infectious disease which results from the overall impact of biological, behavioural and psychosocial factors. The environment of every individual plays a role in its aetiology, too. The content and form of the diet, regularly performed oral hygiene, fluoride intake and continuous dental care act as an unquestionable part in the prevention of dental caries. "Quality of life" or "well-being" is nowadays an emphasized aspect in most of the studies. There is one factor linked to the well-being of a child discussed on a field of paediatric dentistry - the dental fear. The four following studies presented in this dissertation describe the above mentioned topic. The first surveys the dentist's relationship with the child patients and looks for the reasoning why the children were referred to the faculties and specialists. The second pursues the environmental factors which influence the perception of dental environments in pre-schoolers and the fear of even the most common dental procedures. The third performs an evaluation of the dental fear level in a sample of preschool children in the Czech Republic, with correlation to their dental status and geographic location. This study also deals with a possible use of colours as another tool for dental fear evaluation...

Úzkost z pohledu vybraných existenciálních autorů / Anxiety from the perspective of the selected existentialist authors

Sauerová, Kristina January 2014 (has links)
The main topic of this thesis is the subjective experience of anxiety. The author has attempted to secede from the strictly psychological level, therefore there are authors dealing with the overlap of human existence included. As a result, the thesis is also a partly philosophical view of anxiety. However, given the focus of the author, the greater part of the work is based on the psychological view. In the practical part, the hypothesis that the consciousness of the meaning of life has a certain influence on the experience of anxiety was confirmed. However, this effect is not as large and as clear as Frankl describes in his work.

Pavelková, Monika January 2014 (has links)
Bc. Monika Pavelková ABSTRACT The aim of the paper is to study closely the influence of spirituality on attitude towards death among people who find themselves in a situation of proximity to death. Due to the fact that spirituality proves to be a significant factor influencing the process of accepting death, increasing attention is paid nowadays to the spiritual component of personality and to saturation of its spiritual needs. Spirituality is understood in a broader sense as relation towards sanctity of either a religious or an irreligious person. Another aspect is the means by which the person comes to terms with own spirituality, whether it is intrinsic and becomes the goal of the person's life-long endeavour, or it can be described as extrinsic because it does not permeate his or her everyday reality. Spiritual orientation of a person is projected into his or her values and goals, it determines the way towards the meaning of life, which exceeds the person proper. V. E. Frankl speaks about reaching the meaning of life through self- transcendence by way of realization of values of creation, experiences and attitudes. A pronounced element of spirituality and attitude towards death is the belief in life after death, be it literal or symbolic, with reference to Terror Management Theory or Meaning Management...
