The inverse of the Abel transform on ${\bf SU}^{\star}(2n)/{\bf Sp}(n)$

Sawyer, Patrice 05 September 2007 (has links)
In this note, we study the inverse of the Abel transform for the symmetric space ${\bf SU}^{\star}(2n)/{\bf Sp}(n)$. We start by giving a recursive formula for the dual of the Abel transform on the root system $A_{n-1}$. This formula allows us to consider a transmutation property on the generalized Abel transform associated to $A_{n-1}$. / This paper has not been published. However, it has been cited in peer reviewed venues.

The complex geometry of Teichmüller space

Antonakoudis, Stergios M 06 June 2014 (has links)
We study isometric maps between Teichmüller spaces and bounded symmetric domains in their Kobayashi metric. We prove that every totally geodesic isometry from a disk to Teichmüller space is either holomorphic or anti-holomorphic; in particular, it is a Teichmüller disk. However, we prove that in dimensions two or more there are no holomorphic isometric immersions between Teichmüller spaces and bounded symmetric domains and also prove a similar result for isometric submersions. / Mathematics

Non-Fully Symmetric Space-Time Matern-Cauchy Correlation Functions

Zizhuang Wu (10712730) 28 April 2021 (has links)
<div>In spatio-temporal data analysis, the problem of non-separable space-time covariance functions is important and hard to deal with. Most of the famous constructions of these covariance functions are fully symmetric, which is inappropriate in many spatiotemporal processes. The Non-Fully Symmetric Space-Time (NFSST) Matern model by Zhang, T. and Zhang, H. (2015) provides a way to construct a non-fully symmetric non-separable space-time correlation function from marginal spatial and temporal Matern correlation functions.</div><div>In this work we use the relationship between the spatial Matern and temporal Cauchy correlation functions and their spectral densities, and provide a modification to their Bochner’s representation by including a space-time interaction term. Thus we can construct a non-fully symmetric space-time Matern-Cauchy model, from any given marginal spatial Matern and marginal temporal Cauchy correlation functions. We are able to perform computation and parameter estimate on this family, using the Taylor expansion of the correlation functions. This model has attractive properties: it has much faster estimation compared with NFSST Matern model when the spatio-temporal data is large; it enables the existence of temporal long-range dependence (LRD), adding substantially to the flexibility of marginal correlation function in the time domain. Several spatio-temporal meteorological data sets are studied using our model, including one case with temporal LRD.</div>

Invariantní differenciální operátory pro 1-gradované geometrie / Invariant differential operators for 1-graded geometries

Tuček, Vít January 2017 (has links)
In this thesis we classify singular vectors in scalar parabolic Verma modules for those pairs (sl(n, C), p) of complex Lie algebras where the homogeneous space SL(n, C)/P is the Grassmannian of k-planes in Cn . We calculate cohomology of nilpotent radicals with values in certain unitarizable highest weight modules. According to [BH09] these modules have BGG resolutions with weights determined by this cohomology. Such resolutions induce complexes of invariant differential operators on sections of associated bundles over Hermitian symmetric spaces. We describe formal completions of unitarizable highest weight modules that one can use to modify method from [CD01] that constructs sequences of differential operators over any 1-graded (aka almost Hermitian) geometry. We suggest uniform description of octonionic planes that could serve as a basis for better understanding of the exceptional Hermitian symmetric space for group E6.

Compactifications géométriques dans les groupes, les espaces symétriques et les immeubles / Geometric compactifications in groups, symmetric spaces and buildings

Haettel, Thomas 09 December 2011 (has links)
In our thesis, we focus on various geometric compactifications. We describe the space of closed subgroups of RxZ. We study the Chabauty compactification of symmetric spaces of non-compact type. We define and study the Chabauty compactification of the space of maximal flats of the symmetric spaces of SL3(R) and SL4(R). We study the geometric limits of maximal flats in the symmetric space or in the Bruhat-Tits building associated to SL3 over a local field. We define and study a Thurston-like compactification of spaces of isometry classes of marked lattices. We define a Thurston-like compactification of the Torelli space of a surface and we describe the natural stratification of a subset of the boundary.

Simetrinės trečiosios eilės liestinės sluoksniuotės / Symmetric tangent bundle of order three

Pavolaitė, Miglė 09 July 2010 (has links)
The paper examined the symmetric third order tangent bundle, defined as 3- jet space. Found symmetric space isotropy group, as well as its isomorphy group. The resulting structural equation of isomorphy group, find this area Maurer - Cartan analogues of equations, an established formula, expressing inducted affines connection component of curvature tensors of the isomorphy group structural constants. Also received identities connecting the curvature objects structural constants of isomorphy group (generalized in Riči and Bianchi identity).
