Personuppgifteshantering och identifiering inom myndighet, skola och förtag

Nilsson, Petter, Petersson, Jonas January 2010 (has links)
The authors of this thesis have studied the handling of personal information in various kinds of organizations, because the perception is that the knowledge in this area is weak relative to the weight of the subject. The purpose of this paper has been partly to shed light on how knowledge of this area in the organizations that we have visited during the study but also to answer questions about handling, knowledge and security, and identification of individuals in different systems. What kind of problems the processing of these data creates and why these problems occur. In the beginning of our study we understood the importance of using the correct identifier and therefore chose also to examine what the various identifiers used by the organizations and why they chose these particular identifiers. In the qualitative analysis, Datainspektionen´s general rules and advice has been used as a basis together with the laws applicable to the organizations to get a good picture of how management of personal information is in these organizations. What we have found in this paper is that knowledge about how personal data is handled and what laws and rules are saying is very much dependent on how central the information is to these organization's activities. The police use so many different types of records for their organization to function well and they have very good knowledge of laws and regulations. In contrast, schools that do not handle as much of personal data themselves nor have the same knowledge among staff and do not have enough resources to cope with keeping the same knowledge base as the police. This is something that applies to all types of handling, depending on how important the information is for the organization, the better the security and knowledge in handling the data is.

Indicators and Implications for Information Quality Management Improvements : A case study within AGA Specialty Gas division

Mwita Nyamoni, David, Johansson, Jimmy January 2012 (has links)
The two largest resources companies have today are knowledge workers and information. Therefore, it is important for companies to focus efforts on providing information users with the best possible quality of information to ensure that knowledge can perform tasks efficiently and effectively. The first task of this study was to figure out if the case division had any information quality problems; this was because our case division did not know if they had any information quality problems and thereby asked the researchers to start from a blank page. Therefore, the focus of this research was to investigate the level of infor-mation quality management implementation as well as knowledge workers’ perception re-garding information product within the company. By using the characteristics of IQMM the researchers were able to find implications and indicators for information quality man-agement at AGA Specialty Gas division. The researchers decided that the nature of the problem was to investigate the current situation within our case company. An inductive approach was the best solution with a philosophical stand point of interpretation to tackle the problem. The collection of data was done in a multi-method approach in which qualita-tive data was gathered from semi-structured face-to-face interviews while quantitative data was gathered by the use of a questionnaire. This data was then interpreted in a narrative style in which the researchers told what was going on and what it implies for the case com-pany by using relevant theories. The analysis illustrates some interesting findings regarding indications and implications for information quality management implementation, as well as the difficulties in assessing the level of information quality maturity level. The results show that there are some limitations towards the use of a linear information maturity mod-el which makes it hard to assess the level of maturity in this study. The contribution in this research study is both practically and academically sound.

Stjerndorff, Pia, Swärd, Cim January 2012 (has links)
This study was carried out in the purpose of investigating the factors in the electronicmedical records system in Procapita that contributes to utility for the users and the factorsthat prevents the experience of utility for the users. The study was done within KalmarCounty and its employees within the field elderly care. The problem that we brought upwas that the elderly part of the population is growing quite rapidly whilst the gap betweensupply and demand on nurses and physiotherapists is increasing. This creates a problem ofits own in regards to how we are going to care for the elderly when there’s not enoughstaff for it. A solution to this could be to ease the workload for the employees and maketheir work procedures more effective, through the help of eHealth. In this study we use a combination of the DeLone and McLean Information SystemSuccess Model, Task-Technology Fit, Actability and Usability. The combination is used tocreate the factors that is later applied to show what contributes to utility and what preventsthe experience of utility for the employees. The factors this study present that contribute toutility for the users were; no duplicated information, a joint structure, relevant demands oncommunication, the distinctiveness of participants, the distinctiveness of notifications, thedistinctiveness of searchability, good conditions for communication and continuouseducation. The factors this study present that prevent the experience of utility for the userswere; unstable access to the system, inadequate ordinance of authorization, obscurenavigation, illogical concepts, constrained collaboration and constrained access. Our hopes for the study is that what we have started will be built on through biggerselection of respondents, a different selection of respondents and different angles on thetheme of the study. With this we hope that the research on the effectiveness in informationsystems continues forward and that the difficulties with the lack of employees compared tothe growing elderly part of the population are minimized.

Active and self-learning in a biological screening task

Peter, Jan-Thorsten January 2009 (has links)
The focus of this master thesis is to analyze the effectiveness of self-learning and active-learning on biological virtual screening. Virtual screening is used in the pharmaceutical industry to increase the effectiveness of biological screening. Self- learning is a technique where parts of the classified test data are reused for training the classifier again. Active learning gives the classifier the possibility to select certain parts of the test data to use them as additional training data. The experiments in the thesis show that both methods can be used to improve the precision of the virtual screening process, but active-learning is more effective due to the additional information that is provided.

Rindeback, Henry January 1997 (has links)
