Aspects du franco-roumanisme culturel et linguistique à la lumière des documents juridico-administratifs des pays roumains (1828-1848)

Cibian, Aura-Celestina 25 February 2012 (has links)
Starting with the first contacts mentioned in Chapter 1., to the flourishing of French-Romanian relationships, we have offered through this thesis an image of how has been built and developed the common history of two peoples, so that we can speak afterward of the significant French-Romanian phenomenon. The document that constitutes the basis of our studies is the first edition of the Romanian Constitutional Texts, written in Cyrillic Alphabet, but the version that has been very useful to us is the bilingual French-Romanian version preserved in the 1890 Romanian Parliamentary Annuaries. This has been a very rich source for our lexical, stylistic, morphological, syntactical and translation analysis, aspects presented in Chapter 3. We have structured it into two sections: a theoretical one, having in center two important names in stylistics, Swiss and Romanian representatives, Charles Bally and Tudor Vianu and different translation theoreticians such as: Georges Mounin, Marianne Lederer, John Catford, Henri Meschonnic, Algirdas-Julien Greimas, Eugene Nida, etc.; the second part is a practical one, with contrastive French-Romanian analysis of the two texts: the Romanian text (the source-text) and the French text (the target-text). At the end of our thesis, in Chapter 4, we have detailed some aspects of the nowadays version of the Romanian Constitutional Texts, bilingual version reflecting very well the significant progressive steps taken from the 19th century until now.

Současné české překlady anglicky psané poezie pro děti / Recent Czech translations of children's poetry in English

Hron, Jiří January 2017 (has links)
The thesis deals with recent Czech translations of children's poetry in English and their addressees. In the first part, we describe the terminological issues related to the terms dětská literatura and dětská poezie (and their English equivalents), focus on the specific features of children's poetry and the process of translating children's literature, and finally outline the history of children's poetry in the Czech lands, the United Kingdom and the USA. In the second part, we compare target texts with their source texts in terms of content (proper nouns, puns etc.) and form (rhythm, rhyme etc.), thereby showing the strategies the translators used. Finally, we also comment on the issues pertaining to the publishing of children's literature and describe the origination of the Czech translation of Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic. Keywords: children's literature, children's poetry, translation, translation analysis, Shel Silverstein, Robert Browning, Robert Louis Stevenson, Alexander Milne, Thomas Stearns Eliot, Lewis Carroll, Norman Lindsay

Překlad prostředků mluvenosti v beletrii. Stoletá historie překladu Maupassantovy povídky Ivrogne. / Translation of Colloquial Language Devices in Fiction: A Century of Maupassant's Ivrogne in Czech Translation

Mundevová, Lenka January 2016 (has links)
Lenka Mundevová Translation of Colloquial Language Devices in Fiction: A Century of Maupassant's Ivrogne in Czech Translation Abstract The dissertation compares the stylization of the dialogues in the French original of Maupassant's short story Ivrogne (The Drunkard), written in 1884, with five Czech translations published between 1902 and 1997. The comparative analysis is focused on the devices of colloquial language, including dialect, which appear frequently in the dialogues of the story and prove to be extraordinarily useful when interpreting Maupassant's text. The analysis of the excerpted material is preceded by the description of the basic characteristics of colloquial French and Czech, followed by the description of their stratifications. The mutual relation of the colloquial language varieties is an important prerequisite for the evaluation of the translations of colloquial language devices and their appropriateness in the individual Czech versions of Ivrogne. The paper also deals with the development of Czech aesthetic translation standards and their relation to the standard of local fiction, outlining the important tendencies of Czech fiction translation applied when colloquial devices were conveyed from French to Czech during the specified timeframe. The individual language devices used in the...
