Em particular, com base em trabalhos clássicos como Rochet e Tirole (2002) e de Guthrie e Wright (2006), tem por objetivo discutir o papel da taxa de intercâmbio, o preço que une os dois lados do mercado sob a forma de um percentual da transação descontado do estabelecimento comercial que é pago ao emissor pelos adquirentes, como fator de equilíbrio no mercado de cartões e o contexto da interoperabilidade no Brasil. ___________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The aim of this paper is to present the structure of a market for cards, identifying and defining its main actors, the way it operates, whether competitive or monopolistic. In particular, based on classic works as Rochet and Tirole (2002) and Guthrie and Wright (2006), this paper aims to discuss the role of the interchange fee, the price that joins the two sides of the market in the form of a percentage transaction deducted of the retailers and which is paid to the issuer by the consumers, as a factor of balance in the card market. In addition, we present the context of interoperability in Brazil.
