Aprendizagem da língua francesa em um centro de estudo de línguas do estado de São Paulo: desenvolvimento da produção escrita em aplicativos para tabletes / French Language learning at a Language Study Center in the state of São Paulo: development of writing production in applications for tablets

Cardoso, Luciane Cristine da Cruz 05 December 2016 (has links)
Nowadays, the Internet and the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) transform our daily lives, promoting changes in the professional, domestic, and academic levels. The relationships are changed, as well as the ways of thinking and discovering in order to build knowledge and act socially. A simultaneity of processes makes the organization of the information and communication society a big network, full of connections and interactions. We can observe these transformations in the context of teaching and learning languages, where teacher and pupil bring to the classroom a series of internet-gathered information or experiences of interaction in social media, discussion groups, among other resources that ICT continually promote. The school is no longer the only one to transmit and construct knowledges, and new relationships are created between teaching and learning. This research was developed in a Language Study Centre in the state of Sao Paulo, in the context of teaching and learning French, in a multilevel class. Our research goals are to investigate to what extent the use of digital resources for tablets in classes can contribute to the ICT and the production of written texts in French, and, finally, identify how the role of mediator is established by the professor in the implementation of the project Mon livret de voyage, which connects the teaching of languages and ICT. Our qualitativeinterpretative research draws on methods of Action Research (THIOLLENT, 2009). The theoretical approach that guided our research refers to concepts of communicative approach and task-based approaches (RICHARDS, 2006; ELLIS, 2008; GUICHON, 2012; ALMEIDA FILHO, 2013), pedagogical mediation (VYGOTSKY, 1999, 2010; MASETTO, 2013), development of activities by tasks and the concept of pedagogical map (MANGENOT e LOUVEAU, 2006), and the use of digital resources in pedagogy (GUICHON, 2012; LEFFA, 2012; BRAGA, 2013). The results show that the pedagogical planning done by the teacher, promoting the production of written texts in French by the mobilization of pupils linguistic knowledges by using digital resources for tablets, maximized the learning of language. The research contribution, in the context of teacher training allows for the development of reflections and future actions about the possibilities of learning languages by using ICT in multilevel classrooms, having as reference a methodology based on tasks aiming at the accomplishment of a final project, in the context of this research, the Livret de voyage.

The use of metacognitive learning strategies in learning vocabulary among Malaysian university students / L'utilisation des stratégies métacognitives dans l’apprentissage du vocabulaire en milieu universitaire malaisien

Ahmad, Ajhar 27 November 2017 (has links)
The present study aims to investigate twofold: (1) to investigate the students’ perceptions toward vocabulary learning which influences the choice and the use of the strategies (Discovery Study) and (2) to investigate and describe the effect of using Metacognitive strategies which were integrated in vocabulary learning lessons employed by Malaysian University students in learning French as a foreign language (Main Study); This study included variables such as Individual differences and Situational and Social factors that act as facilitators and constraints of the students’ vocabulary learning. Qualitative approach is applied for objective 1 and whilst quantitative approach is used to fulfil objective 2. The research subjects under the present investigation were 45 undergraduate students studying at UiTM (University of Technology Mara, Penang Campus) in academic year 2015; one class of 21 which received metacognitive learning strategies in learning vocabulary involving the experimental group; the other class of 24 students served as the control group and received only traditional method of learning without metacognitive components. The primary data sources of this study were analysed by SPSS such as t-test to assess the significant differences for mean of vocabulary knowledge tests performance between the control group and experimental group during pre and post-tests and as well Excel 2007 to analyse descriptively the frequency, percentage mean and standard deviation of metacognitive strategy components use. Furthermore, One Way ANCOVA analysis was used to determine the effects of using metacognitive strategy during vocabulary learning lessons. Moreover, questionnaires and semi-structured interview were used for collecting data and course documents, students’ reflective answers (Keys ideas), and notes during the class interventions were additional data sources. The findings reveal that students’ perception towards vocabulary learning of the target language affects the selection and use of the strategy, where the negative perception resulted in an unsuccessful learning whilst positive perceptions will lead to effective learning. The analysis results found that the factors were strongly related to influence the use of the strategies such as beliefs, affective states, learner factors, target language and context. Moreover, using metacognitive strategy in the vocabulary learning was beneficial in enhancing the students’ vocabulary knowledge performances. Findings from this study also suggest that perceptions towards vocabulary learning and the use of metacognitive strategies in learning French vocabulary had impacts on foreign language learning.

Sociální média a výuka francouzštiny jako cizího jazyka / Social Media and teaching and learning French as foreign language

Hunalová, Nikola January 2022 (has links)
The aim of this master thesis entitled Social Media and teaching and learning French as a foreign language is to find the elements which connect teaching and learning French as a foreign language and social media. The theoretical part is based on the definitions of foreign language didactics and teaching French as a foreign language. It describes in detail the current approaches in teaching foreign languages and competencies suggested by the Common European Framework of Reference for languages and Framework Education Programme of the Czech Republic. Then, social media are introduced theoretically. The theoretical introduction is followed by the presentation of concrete social networks and the statistics of their use. The next chapter is dedicated to communication which unifies these so far separated fields of the diploma thesis. Finally, the thesis summarizes the potential and the dangers of social media for teaching and learning French. The practical part focuses on the analysis of selected French coursebooks and enumerates the examples of online communication and social media in these teaching resources. Then, a list of educational profiles on social media is presented. This is accompanied by profiles that are not educational at first, but their content can be used for teaching and learning...

Of theatrical play to the production written in 2nd year of high school from Caligula of Albert Camus

Oubah, Narimane 10 March 2017 (has links)
Our thesis considers the written production, in a French class, as an innovative school practice when it is accomplished in a workshop space, and realized through the play, staging, and editing of a show. In order to do this, we have implemented a play, Caligula by Albert Camus, as a way of teaching and learning, accompanied by a range of tools - a teaching device or unit, a video of the play, Logbook, etc., - promoting, at the same time, an action research on the ground. Our work also questions the possibility of such an experiment conducted in an unusual place, the South of Algeria, in the oasis of Bou-Saâda, and with a group of learners 2nd Year, Foreign Languages in high school. Our aims are to improve the written skills of the oasis learner through theatrical scripture, to give him a taste to learn the language; and to give a certain dynamic to this learning by allowing him to create and see represented what 'He writes on the set’. Beyond a simple acquisition of editorial skills, we have seen changes in the academic and social representations of the French language in the learner group, from a conservative Southern society, in which the target language has a different status has the respect to the North, evoking the history, geography and multi-linguals of the country.
