Through this analysis we could have the conception of this course and it was integrated by the current brazilian society. It is represented by the region of ABC paulista and questions about social, economic and cultural conditions of these students besides the analysis of the accomplished interview with students, professors and current works. Summing up it was possible to identify the ingress and egress profile of the students since all the possible mechanisms are indicated for this formation.(AU) / Esta dissertação trata das percepções dos alunos, dos professores e do mercado de trabalho sobre os cursos superiores de tecnologia na região do grande ABC paulista, com a indicação histórica desta formação profissional. Através da análise de fatos que levaram à concepção desta modalidade de ensino e de como ela se integrou na sociedade brasileira atual, representada pela região do grande ABC paulista e do questionamento sócio, cultural e econômico de alunos que estão matriculados em uma instituição de ensino nela situada, bem como a análise das entrevistas realizadas com discentes, docentes e representantes do mercado de trabalho foi possível estabelecer o perfil de ingresso e de egresso destes alunos, uma vez que estão indicados todos os mecanismos possíveis para o percurso estabelecido por esta formação.(AU)

Professional education and upper technological teaching are themes which are treated in this study. The theoretical themes which support the analysis and other actions in this paper were based in themes which go toward public politics, professional formation in the technical level and technology in upper technology courses. It aimed at understanding the technical formation contributions and limitations in personnel preparation in the technical and technological level in professional upper courses which are expressed in the pedagogical project of the Upper Technological Course in Commercial Management at the Universidade do Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE), as well as the students perceptions. The adopted method for the developing of investigation is based on the qualitative research, approach to the bibliographical research, the documentation research emphasizing the collection of data by way of questions and works from the conclusion of course students. The objects of the research were composed of 26 students. The theoretical study was carried out from the ideas on the theme and afterwards the results obtained from the conclusion papers present by the course-ending students. For the organization of the collected data a complete reading of the material was made focusing on the group profile. This way the analysis indicated, in a general sense, that the motivation for the choice of courses in based on faster certification in upper grade with good chances for better jobs, the professional course contribution specially relying on the contents. Besides all this, it shows some fragile themes related to the theory and practice in the future field of the technician in Commercial Management. / A presente investigação está vinculada ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade do Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE), na linha de pesquisa Instituição Educacional: Organização e Gestão . Neste estudo, articulam-se as temáticas educação profissional e ensino superior em tecnologia . Os pressupostos teóricos que embasaram as análises e demais ações deste estudo pautaram-se em temáticas voltadas para políticas públicas, formação profissional em nível técnico e tecnológico e cursos superiores de tecnologia. Teve como objetivo compreender as contribuições e limitações da formação profissional tecnológica expressa no projeto pedagógico do Curso Superior de Tecnologia em Gestão Comercial da Universidade do Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE), bem como sob a percepção dos alunos concluintes. A metodologia adotada para o desenvolvimento da investigação baseia-se na pesquisa qualitativa, abordando a pesquisa bibliográfica, a pesquisa documental e priorizando a coleta de dados por meio de questionários e trabalhos de conclusão de curso dos alunos. Como sujeitos da pesquisa participaram 26 alunos concluintes. Para o desencadeamento das análises, partiu-se do estudo teórico sobre o tema e, posteriormente, dos resultados obtidos por meio de questionários, análise do Projeto Pedagógico e, por fim, análise dos trabalhos de conclusão de curso elaborados pelos alunos. Para a organização dos dados coletados foi realizada uma leitura integral dos documentos, dos artigos e dos questionários respondidos pelos sujeitos da pesquisa atentando para o perfil do grupo. Assim, as análises indicam, de forma geral, que a motivação para a escolha do curso pauta-se na certificação em nível superior mais rápida e com boas chances de emprego, que o curso tem contribuído para a formação profissional, especialmente no que tange aos conteúdos tratados. Porém, apresenta fragilidades, especialmente aquelas relacionadas à articulação teoria e prática no futuro campo de atuação do tecnólogo em Gestão Comercial.
