Um estudo sobre a natureza do tempo, partindo da Teoria da relatividade geral, de Albert Einstein e dos estudos de G. J. Withrow e Edward Hall. Uma abordagem sobre as noções de corpo, através da psicanálise e da fenomenologia, até a formulação do conceito de quase-corpo, com avanços sobre a sua representação na obra lírica, prosaica e dramática de Samuel Beckett, acrescida de um panorama detalhado da apresentação do corpo em sua obra escrita para o palco. Apresenta-se um estudo estético e histórico a respeito das cinco tele-peças escritas por Samuel Beckett, com atenção especial à análise da tele-peça ...até parecer as nuvens..., e detalhes sobre o processo de tradução, montagem, produção e realização de um vídeo que acompanha este trabalho e é parte integrante desta tese. Ao final, há um apêndice com algumas das traduções de peças teatrais, poemas e tele-peças citados, realizadas pelo autor da tese. / This research is a study bout the body and space-time in Samuel Beckett’s work for television. A study about the nature of time, took from Albert Einstein’s Theory of relativity through the studies made by G. J. Withrow and Edward Hall. An approach to the notions of body, by the Psychoanalysis and the Phenomenology, to the notion of quasi-body, with a breakthrough about the body representation in Samuel Beckett’s lyric, prose and dramatic works, added with a detailed overview of the body representation in Samuel Becket’s works written for the stage. There is also an aesthetic and historical study about Samuel Becket’s five tele-plays, with a special look on the analysis of the tele-play …but the clouds…, and details about the translation process, production and the accomplishment of the video that is part of this dissertation. At the end, there is an appendix with some of the Portuguese translations of plays, poems and tele-plays quoted in this dissertation, made by the author of the thesis.
