The Spiritual Dimension in the Films of Evald Schorm thesis deals with the creation of the director as viewed from the perspective of the theological hermeneutics and christian ethics. It is based on analysis of intertextual references, biblical themes and Christian symbolism, with an emphasis on the specifics of their integration into the author's creative concept and socio - political context. The introductory chapter provides insight into the issue of spirituality and spiritual dimension in Czech Film in 1960' and defines the creation of the period in terms of intertextuality, moral- ethical and formal aspect, thus creating three groups of films designated as biblical, sacred and spiritual. The core of the thesis is the interpretation of the Passion narratives set in films The Parson's End and The Seventh Day, the Eighth Night, as well as interpretations of characters from movies The Tourist, The Every Day Courage and The Return of the Prodigal Son, which are in the spirit of theological hermeneutics compared with the biblical type of Christ. The latter film is confronted with the biblical story of the same name. Com esta intenção, analiso como se elabora a narrativa, como esta dialoga com os textos evangélicos e com a sociedade que a originou- através da tradição- e como o cinema, adaptando-a as suas necessidades, originou uma nova forma de Cristologia / Abstract: In this thesis, I verify which Jesus images were elaborated by the cinema in its efforts to adapt this story to its own language. Had the cinema developed Christology incidentally or accidentally? In search for alI these answers, I analyzed the most representative movies of the cinematographic production in its very small details, in the period consistent within 1895 and 2004. In my mind, have I always had the movie as the main analysis document and final object of my final conclusions; however, I had considered it alI, the perception of other critics and the social-historical moments of its production. Withal, I analyze how the narrative is elaborated, how this one dialogizes to the gospel texts and to the society in which it was originated - throughout the tradition ¿ and how the cinema, having it adapted to its own needs, created a new way of Christology / Doutorado / Doutor em Multimeios

It descripes contemporary background of pietism, the sources from which he drew and its various forms. Observes how pietism resolved the crisis of the Church and society. It describes the basic emphases of pietism, supporting notes and warning elements. The second part deals with the time and cause of constitution of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, practical expressions of piety of its members and its inclination to the biblical theology of personalism. The emphasis on a personal relationship with God and to another human being nurtured by studying the Scriptures in the community and a new emphasis on active and responsible reborn man who is active in the world, is the central theme of pietism and the new generation of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church.

The thesis deals teologic comparison of two patristic commentaries of the Sermon on the Plain from Gospel of Luke - by saint Ambrose and by saint Cyril of Alexandria. Both autors are excerpts from their commentaries of Gospel of Luke. At first are outlined life and literary work of both authors and later an analysis of both texts from the point of view of selected principal theological topics is made. After that the two theological views are compared to the Sermon on the Plain, outlining the initial idea of both autors.
