”Innovation is not about creativity, it’s about discipline” : Uncovering the effects of shared leadership on disruptive innovation in international new ventures

Gammenthaler, Samuel, Lehmann, Michael January 2018 (has links)
In recent years, start-ups and small to medium sized enterprises that operate globally from their inception have become commonplace. These companies often use shared leadership structures and aim to disrupt an existing market with a innovative product. This thesis intends to explore and understand the influence of shared leadership on disruptive innovation inside these international new ventures using a qualitative research approach, by gathering relevant theories of shared leadership, such as disruptive innovation and international new ventures and contrasting them in an abductive manner with the results of six interviews conducted with representatives of chosen start-ups. In these interviews the participants were questioned about shared leadership and disruptive innovation separately and try to integrate the results of shared leadership that relate to disruptive innovation in a positive or negative manner. Our findings suggest that creativity, efficiency, intrinsic motivation as well as cross-field knowledge have an incubative effect, while shared leadership itself, when managed poorly, can hamper disruptive innovation.

Possenti, Marco Antonio January 2010 (has links)
The worldwide increase in food consumption has required synergy from the agricultural sector and ever more the agro industrial segment needs to improve its productive and managements systems to meet the demand. For this, the agro industrialization directly in the field, on small farms has been pointed as a solution to this complex agrifood system. However, the unpreparedness of rural men along with the increased rural exodus, contributes to the low sustentability these rural enterprises. This work aims to serve the small familiar agro industrial segment through a systematic to support the economic management. It was also found that the success chances of the enterprise tend to increase because of the cash flow map, that the systematic provides, once that the technical assistance may help the enterprise in respect of indebtedness because of investment without the expected return. After the partial validation, it was structured the final systematic to support the economic management of small familiar agro industries.

Corrêa, Andressa da Silva January 2012 (has links)
This study deals with the processes that enable the engagement of actors in struggles for recognition. This strategy was built from empirical evidence indicating that, after joining in solidarity economic enterprises, some workers went on to be construed as important for the social whole, struggling for recognition. The objective of this research was to find out the exchange occurred as moral, for the value itself, which provided the inclusion policy. To develop the proposed was used the Axel Honneth’s recognition theory, which means that the substrate for the opportunity of the social struggle are difficulties in everyday life - from situations of social shame, manifested in cases of violation, exclusion and degradation. However, during the course of research, not always the commitment to struggle for recognition is established from the experiences of social shame, condition that required the adaptation of the theory. Thus, based on authors such as Santos, Souza and Cardoso de Oliveira, it was understood that the model honnethiano is constructed from civic model, which is based on a equality among all subjects that not is established in Brazil. Therefore, in this country, social humiliation would be able to be naturalized and the substrate of struggle for recognition has had difficulty to produce, because privileges are allowed. Based on these elaborations, the research results confirmed that an equal minimum was not established and that this uneven condition provided the formation of internal difficulties to the fight, since the subjects note themselves with lower value, as a person, accepting humiliation. In this context, the solidarity economic ventures (ESS) become a social environment to promote learning regarding the moral logic civic, from which the actors built equal condition and passed to engage the critical hierarchical models, and in some cases, to fight for recognition . The central variables, offered by the collective experiences of work, that enabled this process to be effected, were: the establishment of a solidarity among the participants of working group (manifested in an early recognition of individual skills), from which the actors were considered important and joined in the collective project; the contact associated with public spaces that allowed a moral learning on the democratic deliberative processes and provided an alternative evaluative horizon estimates (democratic, humane, sustainable).
