Development of a classification model in disability sport

Wu, Sheng Kuang January 1999 (has links)
The principal aim of this study was to develop a classification model in disability sports. Using disability swimming as an example, methods of participant observation, interview, survey and document analysis were undertaken in three empirical studies to develop and clarify the classification model and three elements in swimming classification- (a) the classification process, (b) classifiers and (c) the classification system. First, the swimming classification process was identified as a social process. Members in the classification process socially interacted. The detailed classification process was described, interpreted and discussed. Several features in the classification process were identified. They included interaction among social actors, routinization, rules in the process, resources used by classifiers, power relations among social actors, allocation of rewards and sanctions in the classification process, and conflicts among social actors. Second, the role of classifiers as an agent of social control in disability swimming was examined. Resources used by medical and technical classifiers in the classification process to maintain their role and social order, and the socialization of classifiers in swimming were specifically explored. In addition, the important characteristics of swimming classifiers were identified in the study. Third, classification outcomes in disability swimming were monitored to evaluate the effectiveness of the classification system. Performance and impairment approaches were used in the study. Data of performances and types of impairment of Paralympic swimmers were analysed. The results revealed that the swimming classification system was generally fair but some classes needed to be fine-tuned. In this study elements of the classification model were clarified by integration of the results of the three empirical studies and the classification literature. It is suggested that researchers may use the concepts of the classification model for further investigationin disability sportc lassificationa nd disability sport committees may apply the model to systematicallye valuatet heir own classification systems, processes and classifiers.

The objective of this study is to understand the mechanisms that operate the flow classification of children and teenagers among the "doorways" and shelters in the city of São Paulo. To meet this goal we used two procedures: the analysis of public documents and production interviews. The documents were divided into the following categories: laws and statutes, policies and guiding plans and reports. The interviews were conducted in a shelter on the southern city of São Paulo that carries out service to the age group 0-17 years and 11 months. The professionals selected for interview in the team's technical service, namely, coordinator, psychologist and social worker. Amounted to three interviews prepared based on semi-structured methodology. The analysis of interviews and documents followed the methodology of discursive practices including language in the speech as action, ie, the modes from which the contents produce discursive sense about the social world. In addition, we worked with the perspective of Foucault developed the concepts of disciplinary mechanisms and security mechanisms to review processes and the classification in the flow between the shelters. From the analysis of the documents drawn up taking institutional flow as a criterion the time for each service they perform in the shelters. The arrangements were found for "short time" (up to two months) and "long time" (two years) for the realization of institutionalization, namely respectively the "gateways" and shelters. Comparison between the analysis of documents with the analysis of the interviews allowed us to recognize the practice of eligibility criteria that operate on the network from categories such as history on the streets, drug addiction, offense, mental health and age. These categories, acting alone or in combination, act as a filter and their effects imply classification provided better retention of children and adolescents in the "gateways" to the exclusion of the protection system formed by the network of shelters. These classificatory practices, especially in the categories analyzed, go against the principles of universality and integral protection doctrine advocated by the CAS because it reduces or negates the protection rights of children and especially teenagers who have a history of street drug addiction and infringement / Este trabalho insere-se na temática da ―medida protetiva abrigo‖ prevista no Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA) e articulada em seus artigos 98 e 101.

Identification And Efficiency Assessment In A Selected Corporation / Identifikace a měření výkonnosti procesů ve vybraném podniku

Floriánová, Radka January 2007 (has links)
This dissertation deals with identification, classification and efficiency assessment in general and is later on applied to Wüstenrot - Building and Loan Association, a.s. Process is the core unit of the procedural type of Organization Management. Therefore, the Building and Loan Asociation defines the key processes and proceeds to the process mapping at the selected detail level. In the first place, this concerns the corporational detail level. Secondly, processes of Customer Satisfication are elaborated. These processes make a synergic effect and cause most valuable benefits providing the fact they are controlled. This means the Corporation Management has to reflect to the outcomes of the Process Efficiency Assessment. Every single process is described from the current situation point of view. Subsequently, proposals are made to improve its efficiency assessment.

Modelování vybraných procesů Úřadu MČ Praha 4 / The Modeling of selected processes in the Prague 4 City District Office

Gerlický, Filip January 2011 (has links)
This work consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part provides an introduction to the problems of public administration and local government in particular. It deals with municipalities, their legislation (Act on Municipalities and the City of Prague), types, responsibilities, authorities and the difference between self-dependent and devolved matters. It puts municipality into the context of eGovernment, presents two types of classification of eGovernment and highlights the specifics of administrative duties to which belongs also an electronic identity card (eOP) issue. It deals with a history and a purpose of the identity cards and with requirements they are connected to. A large part discusses the eOP, its differences from previous types, functionality, advantages and disadvantages that it brings, and its safety. It describes the procedures and the requirements for its issuance, proposes some improvements and looks into its future. It doesn't forget to evaluate the project of the eOP. It briefly mentions the process modeling. In the practical part is created a new classification of the services of eGovernement and outlines probably the first complex methodology for such classification. In here there is developed an extensive detailed process model describing the issuance of the eOPs in the Prague 4 City District office, measured this service and evaluated its effectiveness. Then survey focused on citizens' views on electronic identity cards and on the procedure of their issuance is processed.
