Kalinová, Barbora January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis Performing arts agencies and their activities investigates a potential of booking agencies and touring theatre projects. It perceives them as the instrument of prolonging economic life and enhancing self - sufficiency of projects made by independent theatre companies and individual artists. Examples of foreign booking agencies aim to show what kind of services these agencies provide and in what manner they facilitate artists in the development of their careers. Second part of the thesis surveys specific situation in Czech Republic. It determines main obstacles which refrain touring projects of independent theatre companies and individual artists from being efficient. The results of this thesis are a design of subject that could substitute booking agency in Czech settings and also a proposal of whole system changes that would allow efficient touring projects of Czech independent theatre companies and individual artists.

Bike to Ski : Merging ski touring- and mountain bike wear in an attempt to optimise multifunctional outdoor wear for women

Schiøtz Olsen, Sigrid January 2020 (has links)
This project investigates the merging of performance apparel from mountain biking and ski touring, based on the emerging trend in combining mountain biking and ski touring as sports. Designing apparel for a combination of sports could contribute to a sustainable change in the outdoor industry by affecting the design thinking, demand and consumerism. All the garments are developed based on the female body and needs. This is shown through both commercial pieces and experimental pieces, with garment shapes that are both similar and not so similar to existing garments. Material placement is based on movement and thermoregulatory responses of the female athlete and plays an important part to achieve both expression and function in the garments. The methodology is explained through five parts; field testing, sketching, prototyping, experimenting and evaluation, which are used both numerical and independently of each other. This resulted in a collection of seven outfits where three of these are produced and the remaining four are illustrated through development, sketches and technical descriptions. Results show suggestions of how a combination between sports could be developed and used. It also shows potential to be developed even further into other various directions.

Top hat and cane show : gendered emotional labour in kayak guiding

Sharpe, Carlin R January 2012 (has links)
This thesis interrogates the intersections of gender and emotional labour in an exploratory study of guided kayak tours. The kayak tour is a socially produced location where guides hold the double role of entertainer and protector of their clients. The social space of the tour not only constructs and markets to particular clients (which impact guide-clients interactions), but also constructs particular gender locations for guides. Semi-structured, open-ended interviews were conducted to produce rich qualitative data, and were supplemented by fieldwork and examination of promotional materials. Guides’ stories offer detailed accounts of the emotional labour in which they engage as they produce a tour experience for clients. They also reveal the ways in which this labour is intertwined with their gender projects. As kayaking is unexamined within sociological literature, this thesis contributes to an understanding of the social world and furthers knowledge on the complexities of gender and emotional labour. / viii, 112 leaves ; 29 cm

Εναλλακτικές μορφές τουρισμού

Πετροπούλου, Αναστασία 11 January 2010 (has links)
Nowadays, alternative tourism has been successfully improved. Here we are going to analyze some types of alternative tourism such as agro tourism and many others.

Řetězové provádění na zámku ve Vrchotových Janovicích / Chain tour guiding in Vrchotovy Janovice chateau

PETRÁŠOVÁ, Alena January 2015 (has links)
The thesis is about a project for teenagers, called "Chain tour guiding". The project has been held in Vrchotovy Janovice every year since 1994. One of the typical features of this project is a role swap, the principle of which is a group of students becoming the tour guides in the chateau after a short but very intensive training session. The thesis describes in details the method of "Chain tour guiding", its origin, historical background, development and pedagogical segments. It establishes its structure as a project, forms the goals, methods of realising the project, concomitant materials and rating. The author (of the thesis) gains the information from methods of historical pedagogical research, draws the information from specialised literature, provides the documentation analyses and carries out the interviews with the authors of the original project. The first two chapters describe the elements which include experiential pedagogy, object learning, communal learning and revival history. There is an independent chapter dedicated to the Vrchotovy Janovice chateau and the surrounding park. The last part of the thesis defines the definition of "Chain touring" as a project.

Kvalita vody a vodácká turistika na vybraných západočeských řekách / Quality of water and water touring on selected West Bohemia rivers

Šimice, David January 2010 (has links)
3 Abstract Title: Quality of water and water touring on selected West Bohemia rivers Aim: The main aim of the thesis was to find out if there are changes of water quality in the most significant West Bohemia rivers as a result of the changing approach to our environment in the past several years. Furthermore, to consider whether the water quality has changed in relation to finished water management projects and whether this change influenced using rivers for water touring. The observed rivers: Úhlava, Úslava, Radbuza, Mže, Berounka and Střela. Methods: The first part of the thesis, discussing the water quality, analyzes available data collected from written and electronic resources and discussions with experts. The gained material mostly within the last 10 years was organized, compared and summarized. The second part brings the evaluation by canoeists who regularly canoe down these rivers and can visually judge the water quality. This information was interpreted from semi- structured interviews with canoeists. Results: Our presumption that the water quality on the selected West Bohemia rivers is improving was proved, which is one of basic conditions for water touring as well. Keywords: West Bohemia rivers, water touring, water quality, pollution
