  • The Global ETD Search service is a free service for researchers to find electronic theses and dissertations. This service is provided by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
Our metadata is collected from universities around the world. If you manage a university/consortium/country archive and want to be added, details can be found on the NDLTD website.

USE OF GIGE VISION ETHERNET CAMERAS FOR FLIGHT TEST APPLICATIONS WITHOUT DATA LOSS

Holmeide, Ø., Schmitz, M. 11 1900 (has links)
As Ethernet based networks have become the dominant choice for Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) network applications, it is also clear that Ethernet based camera integration and applications have yet to become more wide spread for system level design and integration. A significant customer base utilizes either separate video compression systems or even just stand-a-lone gopro cameras for recording purposes in an unsynchronized ways. The use of uncompressed high definition (HD) video from GigE Vision Ethernet cameras for flight test applications is a significant issue in managing the large volumes of data produced by the cameras and forwarding them to any 1000BASE-T(x) switch port without packet loss and significant delays. Of course an easy approach to overcome this issue would be to just increase the network bandwidth from 1000BASE-T(x) to 10GBASE-SR, but most FTI systems just moved to 1000BASE-T(x) in the past years and therefore changing the overall system hardware is cost prohibited. One concern has been the use of compression algorithms to reduce the required video bandwidth, with the negative side effect that the image quality reduces and end-to-end latency increases, which is not acceptable for some applications. Further, it is important that data from cameras is available to a number of different multicast consumers within the FTI network, for example workstations, recorders and telemetry systems. These video data stream also require synchronization so that they can be analyzed in post processing.

Design Considerations in a Modern Land Mobile Radio System

Sprinkle, Matthew 07 July 2003 (has links)
Modern Land Mobile Radio has the potential for large growth in the near future. Current regulations have set the stage for a required transition to more spectrally efficient technologies. While several organizations are working to ease this transition, there still remain many details and feature sets which the end user must decide amongst and often there is no clear dividing line between these choices. This thesis provides a high-level view of the distinguishing components in modern LMR systems. Discussions related to trunked channel allocation, coverage, costs, security, and other capabilities are given. The application to and effect on everyday users is also considered. Several quantitative examples are provided to assist the end-user in determining when a solution is viable. The discussion and analysis included reaffirm that LMR design is complex and wide-ranging. Ultimately, the designer must evaluate needs and technologies to provide a course of action which is optimum and justifiable. / Master of Science

Análise de perdas em instalações elétricas residenciais / Household electrical installations energy losses analysis

d´Avila, Ricardo Santos 26 March 2007 (has links)
This work analyses heat losses and household electrical installations conditions in the city of São Paulo. Deals the internal building heat losses with its inherent phenomena and its reflex on safety and, also, evaluates economical impacts due to of monetary accounting of the losses. Based on existent electrical installations characteristics and losses studies and laboratory tests, to carry out analyses on the interests on economical investment and trends on specifics design, installation and accreditation services. Also, are shown primary data obtained for tests carried out on bus bar trunking system at the IEE-USP High Current Laboratories.
