Solvallaskolan är en 1-3-skola och förskola förskjuten i höjdled där naturen är i prioritet för både barnen och staden. Genom att lyfta upp skolmiljön i en struktur bevaras utomhusmiljön på marknivån för både barnen och i stadsrummet. Utgångspunkten till projektet syftar till att bevara naturen och skapa en bra miljö för skolbarnen och staden. Idag förtätas och planeras staden vilket oftast bidrar till förändrad och minskad naturtillgång. Utomhusmiljön för skolbarn är inte högt prioriterad vilket ger oplanerade och små ytor där barn förväntas vara. Tomten i Solvalla är bergig och grön vilket är tänkt att bevara. Det finns flera stora träd som bidrar till dess lummiga karaktär. Lutningen på tomten sluttar från parkområdet till staden och skapar en naturlig koppling till naturen. Skolan utgörs av ett stål-grid som täcker tomtens yta och är den bärande strukturen. Det bildar ett skelett där klimatskyddade programmerade klossar är utplacerade och bildar skolmiljön för förskole- och skolbarnen. Utöver dessa strukturen tillkommer ett gångnät som bärs upp av strukturen och dockar till de olika programmerade klossarna. / Solvallaskolan is an 1-3-school and a preschool displaced in vertical direction where nature for the children and the city is in priority.
