Deve ser considerado que o município possui uma história de luta dos movimentos populares por melhores condições de moradia, tem uma legislação urbana considerada avançada e algumas experiências bem sucedidas de atuação dos governos municipais após 1990. Para esse trabalho, a Regularização Fundiária, entendida e aplicada no sentido de viabilizar melhorias nas condições de vida da população de baixa renda, apresenta-se como uma possibilidade de mudança no quadro da segregação, ao passo que permite efetivas melhorias nas condições da área. Dessa forma o trabalho apresenta a distribuição da irregularidade em Porto Alegre, que expressa a desigualdade sócio-espacial, e o processo de regularização fundiária realizado pela Prefeitura de Porto Alegre e seus instrumentos, entre eles o Orçamento Participativo / Abstract: The objective of the work is to carry through a study of Regularization of urban land in Porto Alegre, leading in consideration the bad conditions of the housing, that if they express, also, in the urban land irregularity. It must be considered that the city possess a history of fight of the popular movements for better conditions of housing, has an advanced urban legislation and some successful experiences of performance of municipal governments after 1990. The Regularization of urban land, understood and applied in the direction to promote improvements in the conditions of life of the low income population, is presented as a possibility of change in the picture of the segregation since it allows to effective improvements in the conditions of the area. The work presents the distribution of the irregularity in Porto Alegre, express in the partner-spatial inequality, and the process of Regularization of urban land realized by Municipal administration of Porto Alegre and its instruments / Mestrado / Análise Ambiental e Dinâmica Territorial / Mestre em Geografia
