Vliv monetární politiky na investiční aktivitu firem v zemích V4

Růžičková, Elena January 2019 (has links)
Růžičková, E. The influence of monetary policy on firm investment activity in countries of V4. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. The aim of this thesis is to determine the influence of monetary policy on firm investment activity in the automotive industry in countries of V4, together with the further verification of the influence of other company-specific characteristics. The analysis uses the panel data of microeconomic character, which was drawn from the Amadeus database in the period from 2006 to 2015. As an independent variable representing the influence of monetary policy, a 12-month interest rate PRIBOR, BRIBOR, EURIBOR, BUBOR and WIBOR, representing each of states, was chosen. Other independent variables were selected as company-specific characteristics. Net fixed assets have been chosen as a dependent variable, which can be used to express investment in fixed assets. The models for selected countries will verify the influence of monetary policy on the development of investment activity in the selected industry.

Konvergencia zemí strednej a východnej Európy

Jesenská, Denisa January 2019 (has links)
The thesis deals with the term convergence in connection with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. In the 1990s, the transition process of centrally planned economies into market economies occurred in the countries in question. The countries had been isolated for almost half a century from a market-oriented economic system. The aim of the thesis is therefore to assess to what extent there is convergence between the more advanced states of Western Europe and the post-Soviet countries. Fulfillment of the objective of the thesis will be realized by analyzing the development of economic and non-economic indicators in the countries under review and assessing their convergence rate. Another aim of the thesis is to identify the main causes of different convergence rates between countries.

Coutu, Mathieu 02 1900 (has links)
HIV infects cells by fusing its membrane with the membrane of the target cell. This fusion is performed by the envelope glycoproteins (Env) which are synthesized as a precursor, gp160, which is later cleaved into gp120 and gp41. The transmembrane protein gp41 anchors the envelope complex to the viral particle whereas the gp120 ensures the binding to the cell receptor CD4 and coreceptor CCR5 or CXCR4. These sequential interactions trigger conformational changes on Env that fuel the viral entry process ultimately leading to the insertion of the gp41-derived-fusion peptide into the target cell membrane. The exterior subunit gp120 contains five variable regions (V1 to V5), of which three (V1, V2 and V3) have been shown to restrain the spontaneous sampling of the CD4-bound conformation by gp120. However, the role of variable regions V4 and V5 in these conformational changes remains unknown. To investigate their effect, mutants of the clade B YU2 primary isolate, comprising a deletion of the V5 or mutating all V4 potential N-linked glycosylation sites (PNGS), have been generated. The effect of mutations on the conformation of the envelope glycoproteins was analyzed by immunoprecipitation with conformation-dependent antibodies and surface plasmon resonance. Neither the removal of the V4 PNGS nor the removal of V5 affected Env conformational changes as measured by these techniques. Thus, suggesting that variable regions V1, V2 and V3 are the major players in preventing Env from spontaneously snapping into the CD4-bound conformation.

Arcizet, Fabrice 06 June 2007 (has links) (PDF)

The Establishment and Development of Asylum Policies in East Central Europe

Hoffstädt, Jord Malte January 2016 (has links)
In the light of the current refugee crisis in the European Union, and the remarkably critical stance the East Central European states are taking in Brussels, this research contributes to a broader understanding of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland's policies towards refugees. By scrutinizing the process of developing refugee policies during the 1990s and 2000s, the research will demonstrate that the countries united in the V4 platform in their first years of transition generously contributed to international refugee protection. Steep increase of asylum applicants and negotiation talks with the EU in the late 1990s brought various changes to the refugee policies in the region, marked by more closely defining and the enhancing of asylum seekers' and recognized refugees' rights, but also by lower refugee recognition rates. Accession to the European Union ultimately resulted in more complete and comprehensive asylum policies in line with the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). However, the V4 states maintained rather restrictive interpretations of the European policy, explained by the pressure the CEAS places on the states at the EU's external border and lower economic capacity to accommodate large numbers of refugees. Recent developments are mostly the result of political exploitation...

Vzrůstající důležitost energetické a vojenské bezpečnosti Visegrádské skupiny / Growing importance of energy and military security of the Visegrad Group

Kierczak, Natalia January 2013 (has links)
The thesis researches whether in the Visegrad Group there is growing importance and securitization of energy security and military security leading to further cooperation based on recent crises. The thesis also researches whether Russia is perceived as a threat. This is done through content analysis of national security strategies, energy security strategies and military or defence strategies, as well as discourse analysis of official statements presented by ministries and governments of the Visegrad Group states. In the text, also materials published by the Visegrad Group as a whole are analysed. The discourse analysis in case of the states is focused on moments of crises. In energy security field, three crises were chosen: gas crises of 2006 and 2009, as well as oil crisis of 2008. In the chapter about military security, two events were chosen- conflict in Georgia in 2008 and military exercises in 2009. As it is presented, cooperation in energy security is already taking place and cooperation in military affairs in form of battlegroup is planned. Especially in energy security, a link between recent crises, their securitization and cooperation might be seen based on the research.
