New themed attraction for the theme park industry-western/equestrian production show

Levin, Darren Eric 21 October 2010 (has links)
This thesis explores creation of new themed entertainment attractions for the Theme Park Industry. The creative process of new work, centering on the devising, designing, and preproduction stages of this industry and theatre is the focus of this thesis. The product is an Equestrian/Western Production Show including live vocalists, recorded music, lighting, scenic design, and costume design. The extending goal is to begin to prepare documents for a pitch proposal to a major Theme Park/Themed Entertainment Corporation for inclusion in their Western themed entertainment offerings. This themed entertainment attraction is created to introduce people to historical Rodeo and Western Variety show traditions and spectacles. Honoring these traditions and forms of entertainment provides thrilling visual experiences for the audience. Research, development, and show content focus upon historical and present day western shows. Production concepts outlined include the show concept, soundtrack, script, lighting design, scenic design, sound design and costume design. Central to the creation of the production show is the script and full sound design which are included as a part of this thesis. Scenic Design renderings, ground plan and centerline section illustrate the layout of the performance space. Lighting research images, storyboards, renderings, plot and centerline section illustrate the further visual composition. Costume elements are presented through research morgues broken down by character, act, and clothing look. / text

Le genre Variety à la télévision japonaise et la société japonaise contemporaine : approches historique, communicationnelle, culturelle / Variety shows on japanese television and contemporary japanese society : historical, communicational, cultural approaches

Ding, Lingzi 25 April 2017 (has links)
Variety shows on Japanese television are multifaceted as they conflate various elements at multiple levels: genres, formats, etc. They have grown from importing and imitating American productions to adapting their contents to the Japanese society. This dissertation focuses on the contribution of variety shows to social harmony. The corporate documents issued by major TV companies in Japan make this function explicit. Concrete achievements make this function visible: some programs popularize sciences to enrich people; others introduce the audience to diverse cultural patterns, thus enlarging the choices of lifestyle and enhancing a feeling of richness. Whatever transformations television achieves, pursuing social harmony is never absent from new contents.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Barbara Endo.pdf: 2689781 bytes, checksum: 6c0868d8475b54dd104007374607824a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-03-08 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The entertainment is embedded in everyday life of modern society in a way that goes beyond just the moments of leisure and entertainment, becoming present in professional environments, education and information. Amid this new design, the Communication also realizes changes, as the interactivity promoted by the media coverage, the new appearance of the audience, more demanding and connected, or the hybridization of genres and formats. In this context, there are entertainment programs, especially in the television, incorporating technical and practical aspects of journalism, including the narrative and production processes. Such programs convey a content called infotainment, which combines information and entertainment and thus the journalistic representation of social life is linked to distraction and fun. The dissertation analyzes the content of the news production process within an entertainment program and varieties that features lots of news content in its composition: the Hoje Em Dia, from Rede Record. This is a qualitative study, study type of case, using direct observation techniques, semi-open interviews, desk research and content analysis. The issue of technical reproducibility standards and the inclusion of everyday elements combined with the cultural industry and mass communication is also depicted in this dissertation. The main intention is to understand how the dynamics of journalistic production programs to entertain and at the same time inform.
