It was sought an evaluation process in three parts: conception, implementation and results. This evaluation occurs from the understanding of the target population and technicians involved in PRONASCI / Protejo, and also from the critic analysis of the organizational and procedure problems and the projected goals. Among the relevant results of this evaluation it is possible to point the young people‟s ideas to fight the violence which can contribute to the best planning and performance of public politics that involves the youthful participation as an strategy to prevent and to control the violence / Este estudo tem por objetivo avaliar o Programa Nacional de Segurança Pública com Cidadania (PRONASCI), em seu eixo “prevenção à violência” com o envolvimento da comunidade juvenil constante do Projeto Proteção de Jovens em Território Vulnerável – PROTEJO. O PRONASCI/Protejo foi avaliado a partir do estudo de caso do Território do Grande Bom Jardim, um conjunto de bairros situado na periferia da cidade de Fortaleza, durante o período 2009/2010. Buscou-se um processo avaliativo em três partes: concepção, implementação e de resultados. Esta avaliação se dá à luz do entendimento da população-alvo e técnicos envolvidos sobre o PRONASCI/Protejo, bem como da análise crítica dos problemas organizacionais e processuais e das metas projetadas. Dentre os resultados relevantes desta avaliação é possível destacar as idéias dos jovens para o enfrentamento à violência, que podem contribuir para a melhoria no planejamento e execução de políticas públicas que envolvam a participação juvenil como estratégia de prevenção e controle da violência.

Indigenous populations in the U.S. have been suffering from a youth suicide epidemic for decades. The epidemic and risk factors associated with it can be connected to the mistreatment of Native Americans throughout history which has caused their communities to suffer from numerous inequalities such as poverty, inadequate housing, loss of land, and destruction of culture. Using the concepts of biopolitics, post-colonialism, and structural violence, I argue that the social and political institutions forced upon Native American communities have led to increased alcohol and drug abuse, poverty, and disempowerment, all important factors that aid in the youth suicide epidemic. I also suggests that preventative programs not only focus on suicide but other risk factors involved such as alcohol and drug abuse.

Este estudo tem por objetivo avaliar o Programa Nacional de SeguranÃa PÃblica com Cidadania (PRONASCI), em seu eixo âprevenÃÃo à violÃnciaâ com o envolvimento da comunidade juvenil constante do Projeto ProteÃÃo de Jovens em TerritÃrio VulnerÃvel â PROTEJO. O PRONASCI/Protejo foi avaliado a partir do estudo de caso do TerritÃrio do Grande Bom Jardim, um conjunto de bairros situado na periferia da cidade de Fortaleza, durante o perÃodo 2009/2010. This thesis comes from the analysis of the reception of the young residents of the neighborhood Trough in Maceió , Alagoas about the character of police programs for this we used a qualitative approach in which young students from Maceió- Al participated in individual interviews and group . The theoretical broke the analysis of violence and its relation to the formation of society , from the socio-genesis of Norbert Elias , especially about how the constitution of modernity assisted in the formulation of laws of symbolic character , which in turn generated an emotional economy that rejects violence , which generates insecurity and fear of the future that influences young people , especially those popular layers such as Trough that, despite feeling insecure with violence transmitted as flagship of the media, elebrating the character of police programs and in turn the appearance of his acquaintances in the programs of this nature , because they believe these are more direct ways to show the reality. / Esta dissertação trata-se da análise da recepção dos jovens moradores do bairro de Bebedouro em Maceió, Alagoas acerca dos programas de caráter policial Para isso recorreu-se a uma abordagem metodológica qualitativa em que os jovens estudantes de Maceió- Al participaram de entrevistas individuais e em grupo. Como referencial teórico, partiu-se da análise da violência e sua relação com a formação da sociedade, a partir da Sociogênese de Norbert Elias, especialmente acerca de como a constituição da modernidade auxiliou na formulação de leis de caráter simbólico, que por sua vez geraram uma economia emocional que repudia a violência, a qual gera a insegurança e o medo do futuro que influencia os jovens, sobretudo os de camadas populares como os de Bebedouro que, apesar de se sentirem inseguros com a violência transmitida como carro chefe da mídia, celebram os programas de caráter policial e, por sua vez a aparição de conhecidos seus nos programas desta natureza, por acreditarem que estes são formas mais diretas de mostrar a realidade
