Presents its first creators and projects in Brazil. Also deals with the public politics of incentives and financing and current numbers denoting advancement of this teaching modality. A historical overview was drawn to discuss the impacts of this model from the literature and analyze the program. For this, we used the data of Brazilian education at the national and the Department of Education said the state level. Show the progress of this program through the indices established by the Improvement of the Federal Government Education Programs, to trace a profile between the schools and the full single shift school. As parameter we adopt the School for Excellence in Secondary Teacher Benedita de Morais Guerra located in the city of Macaparana as the central point of our research. The data obtained here make clear the difference between the two types of schools. We found that the educational indices, the projected goals, access to other levels of education, success in external assessments and training for citizenship has significant differences between those who are full-time and those who are single turn. / O presente trabalho traz um inventário da Educação Integral em Pernambuco. Apresenta seus primeiros idealizadores e projetos no Brasil. Trata também das políticas públicas de incentivo e financiamento e dos números atuais que denotam o avanço desta modalidade de ensino. Foi traçado um panorama histórico, para discutir os impactos deste modelo a partir da literatura e analisar o referido programa. Para isso, recorremos aos dados da educação brasileira em âmbito nacional e da Secretaria de Educação do referido estado. Mostramos o avanço deste Programa através dos índices instituídos pelos Programas da Melhoria da Educação do Governo Federal, para traçarmos um perfil entre as escolas de único turno e a escola integral. Como parâmetro adotamos a Escola de Referência em Ensino Médio Professora Benedita de Morais Guerra situada na cidade de Macaparana como ponto central de nossa pesquisa. Os dados aqui obtidos deixam clara a diferença entre os dois tipos de escolas. Constatamos que os índices educacionais, as metas projetadas, o acesso a outros níveis de ensino, o sucesso em avaliações externas e a formação para a cidadania tem diferenças significativas entre as que são de tempo integral e as que são de turno único.
