Ao escrever Avalovara, Osman Lins manifestou que diversas leituras foram convocadas para sua construção. Dessa forma, a obra estabelece um diálogo com diversos textos, sendo que alguns estão preservados no Fundo Osman Lins do Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros da Universidade de São Paulo e da Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa. Assim, ao investigar o arquivo do escritor e trabalhar com a ideia de que o ato de escrever é antecedido por uma leitura e uma pesquisa, esta tese apresenta como alguns livros da biblioteca do escritor fazem parte do processo criador do romance. O estudo configura-se como uma análise e interpretação crítica deste material, apoiando-se na correlação de leituras, notas marginais e documentos do processo criador, observando ainda alguns aspectos de assimilação, transfiguração e seus desdobramentos em Avalovara. Com isso, sobrepostos aos textos impressos, as anotações, grifos ou apontamentos das leituras de Osman Lins se convertem em manuscrito, reforçando a importância da abordagem dos documentos do processo e a presença de um diálogo intertextual que interessa tanto à Literatura Comparada como à Crítica Genética. O trabalho apresenta ainda uma edição das anotações autógrafas: transcritas, classificadas e organizadas. Conteúdo que fornece um percurso de parte da formação do leitor/escritor, seus interesses estéticos e literários e como esta marginália oferece novas perspectivas de estudo para o conjunto de sua obra. / When writing Avalovara, Osman Lins declared that several readings were convened for its construction. Thus, the book establishes a dialogue with various texts, some of which are preserved in the Osman Lins Archive in the Institute of Brazilian Studies of the University of São Paulo and in the Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation. Therefore, when investigating the writers archive and work, considering the idea that the act of writing is preceded by reading and research, this thesis shows how some books from the writers library are part of the creative process of the novel. The study configures itself as an analysis and critical interpretation of this material, supported by the correlation of readings, marginal notes and documents of the creative process, still, by watching some aspects of assimilation, transfiguration and its developments in Avalovara. Consequently, superimposed on printed texts, notes, or notes of griffins, Osman Lins readings are converted into manuscript, reinforcing the importance of the approach to documents of the process and the presence of an intertextual dialogue that are connected both with Comparative Literature and Genetic Criticism. The work also presents an edition of handwritten notes, transcribed, classified and organized. Content which provides a route for part of the formation of the reader / writer, his aesthetic and literary interests and how this marginalia provides new perspectives for the study of his work collection.

Esta dissertação se propôs a estudar a presença da Grécia clássica e mitológica na obra do escritor Monteiro Lobato (1892-1948), buscando verificar como as referências ao mundo helênico se impuseram em diversos momentos de sua produção literária (adulta e infantil), jornalística e memorialística. Com o objetivo de detectar fontes bibliográficas do autor, a pesquisa recuperou títulos de livros de sua biblioteca particular, atualmente dispersa, bem como menções a obras focalizando a Hélade em sua correspondência e em outros documentos. Colocando em pauta os processos de criação literária, o trabalho abordou as relações intertextuais entre obras de Lobato e títulos do historiador Will Durant (1885-1981) e do educador Virgil Hillyer (1875-1931), ambos estadunidenses. Explorou também o diálogo epistolar do criador de Urupês com o escritor maranhense Coelho Neto (1864-1934), reconhecido cultor da temática helênica. A dissertação apresenta \"Seleta\" de trechos da obra de Monteiro Lobato que focaliza aspectos históricos, linguísticos e culturais do mundo grego, a fim de contribuir para a ampliação do debate levantado. / This work has the proposal to study the classical Greece and the mythology presented in Monteiro Lobato\'s works (1892-1948), searching to verify how the references to the Hellenic world impose itself in several moments of his literary production (adult and young), journalistic and memorialistic. With the objective of detecting bibliography sources of the author, the research recovers book titles of his private library, nowadays fragmented, as the mentions of the works focusing the Helade in her correspondence and in other documents. Putting in question the literary processes of creation, this paper approaches the intertextual relations between the works of Lobato and the titles of the historian Will Durant (1885-1981) and the educator Virgil Hillyer (1875-1931), both North-Americans. It also explores the epistolary dialog of the creator of Urupês with the Maranhense writer Coelho Neto (1864-1934), recognized as the cultivator of the Hellenic theme. This paper presents \"Seleta\" of pieces of Monteiro Lobato\'s works that focuses in historical, linguistic and cultural aspects of the Greek world, in order to contribute to the expansion of the debate we raise here.

Este trabalho se propõe a traçar um panorama das possíveis leituras realizadas por Monteiro Lobato, mediante o registro de referências a elas existentes nas cartas do escritor, e a pesquisa de obras que fizeram parte de suas estantes. A primeira parte da dissertação visa ao levantamento das leituras - autores e obras - citadas nas cartas remetidas por Lobato a Godofredo Rangel entre 1903 e 1948. As cartas compõem A barca de Gleyre: quarenta anos de correspondência literária entre Monteiro Lobato e Godofredo Rangel (Companhia Editora Nacional), coletânea editada pelo primeiro em 1944. A segunda parte dedica-se a estudar as relações do escritor com os títulos que restaram no Fundo Monteiro Lobato, depositado no CEDAE/ UNICAMP, e no acervo da Biblioteca Infantil Monteiro Lobato. / This work proposes a perspective of possibles readings made by Monteiro Lobato, through the register of references in his letters, and the research into the books that belonged to his bookcases. The first part of this dissertation aims to map readings - writers and works - quoted in letters sent by Lobato to Godofredo Rangel, between 1903 and 1948. The letters compose A barca de Gleyre: quarenta anos de correspondência literária entre Monteiro Lobato e Godofredo Rangel (by the Companhia Editora Nacional), collection edited by Lobato in 1944. The second part dedicates to studying the relation between the writer and the titles that remained in the Fundo Monteiro Lobato deposited in the CEDAE/ UNICAMP, and in the colletion of the Bibiblioteca Infantil Monteiro Lobato.
