As communication becomes more and more vital in defending a country’s borders, better radios are needed. When the Swedish armed forces saw that their existing radios took too much bandwidth in their net, they knew that something had to be done. The existing radio, called Ra 180 RAP, was modified so that it could send X.25 messages into a network. This significantly reduced the use of bandwidth, as a packet switched network only uses the bandwidth when sending info. This final thesis has been aimed to create a system that can test the X.25 function in the upgraded, so called CI-RAP, radio. This system will come in handy both when upgrading and later when performing service on the radios.

Um paradigma orientado a análise de performance de redes de pacotes / A paradigm oriented to performance analysis of packet switched networks

Spohn, Marcelo January 1993 (has links)
The increasing complexity of communication networks turns each time more complex the task to plan its expansion and evolution. Closely related to these activities is the estimation of performance in terms of network throughput, response times, congestion probability, among others. An efective performance analysis requires the accurate representation of computer network configuration and traffic load. Analytical or simulation techniques can be used to establish the expected system performance. This work makes use of simulation to model the network traffic, based on collected data of a real network. network. Working with the validated model is possible to adjust the traffic load to represent future demand, and to test the performance impact under distinct network configurations. This enable a trustful execution of network planning and design, besides of the cost optimization. The system presented at this work is network performance management oriented, giving support to capacity management and capacity planning. The central idea is that, through network users profile achieved from generated traffic, it's possible to build a representative traffic model to aim at the network performance analysis and forecast. The model was developed to connection oriented packet switched networks, and validated by means of a simulation model to X.25 network traffic, implementd in GPSS. The system prototype comprises three process: traffic monitoring, traffic analysis and traffic simulation. In monitoring, a set of variables are registered for each network connection generated. The traffic load factors are computed according the application type. The applications are classified in two groups: interactive and non-interactive. The traffic analysis process produces traffic load factors in form of tables and graphics. Connections and performance metrics generated at traffic simulation can be graphically analyzed and validated. The proposed system was specified in SDL (Specification and Description Language).

Pauchard, Jocelyne 26 January 2022 (has links)

Säkerhets lösning för elektronisk faktura / Security solution for electronic invoice

Andrén, Åse Larsen, Mantzakanis, Tove, Blom, Maria January 2002 (has links)
We have chosen to look closer at the area of security for electronic invoices. The purpose of this inquest is to provide our case study with a security analysis of three suggestions and a recommendation of the best solution, according to our test. The three solutions are ISDN via a third party, X.25 via Internet bank and Mail server. The company in our case study is in this report referred to as X, has a strong market position and a large clientele and therefore we were interested in analysing and improving X?s electronic invoice system. X was in the position of testing an electronic invoicing system towards a selective group of business customers. The major problem with the system was the security issue regarding transferring the file.

Bibelauslegung im Spannungsfeld von Methodenvielfalt und Eindeutigkeitsbestreben - Dargestellt, Untersucht und Gewertet unter Zuhilfenahme der Wirkungsgeschichte von Lukas 10,25-37 = Bible interpretation between methodological pluralityand the clarity of the text - described, examined and assessed with reference to the history of interpretation of Luke 10:25-37 / Bible interpretation between methodological plurality and the clarity of the text - described, examined and assessed with reference to the history of nthe interpretation of Luke 10:25-37

Text in German / Taking the plurality of methods in Biblical studies as starting point this dissertation shows a way to coherent interpretation message. An analysis of the current state and its long history identifies characteristics preventing clear interpretation results as well as ways to work out coherent interpretation messages. It is accompanied by five interpretations of Luke 10:25-37. An interdisciplinary excursus examines the legal interpretation with its claim of clarity. Three levels of interpretation are considered as essential for an adequate process of interpretation: 1. Clarification of the literal meaning on the basis of a historical exegesis. The author calls for the interdisciplinary cooperation of the methods and introduces a synthesis of methods. 2. Consideration of the reception history of texts. Special attention is given to the authority of interpretation in the Roman Catholic Church. The author regards "interpretive communities" as an alternative option. 3. The Holy Spirit's influence on the process of interpretation. Also in post-modern times interpreters need to "inhabit" the biblical texts. / Biblical and Ancient studies / M.Th. (New Testament)

Electronic data interchange : an implementation methodology

Meyer, Ettienne 11 1900 (has links)
The purpose of the research is to propose and evaluate a methodology for implementing EDI to assist organisations in reaping the anticipated benefits. The research involved the systematic analysis of the state of the art of EDI and paradigms of methodologies, to define a model for the EDI implementation methodology, and to define criteria for evaluating such a model. The methodology was developed and modelled utilising the software process model, as adopted by Boehm (1988) and later duPlessis and van der Walt (1992), as a framework. Next a synthesis of the assimilated knowledge and brainstorming of project teams involved in EDI pilot projects, was used to systematically develop an EDI implementation methodology. The methodology was evaluated by utilising it in the implementation of EDI between two organisations, Computer Equipment Brokers (PTY) and Marksec (PTY). It was concluded that the methodology was efficient for implementing EDI. / Computing / M. Sc. (Information Systems)
