Zkušenosti žáků ZŠ s prevencí šikany na školách ve Svitavách a okolí / Pupil experience with bullying prevention in Svitavy and its surroundings

ZÁLESKÁ, Lenka January 2009 (has links)
The aim of my diploma thesis, which is both theoretical and research work, is to describe possibilities of some of the available bullying prevention schemes for the basic schools in Svitavy and its surroundings. In the first theoretical part, the reader is acquainted with the problem of bullying and then the primary, secondary and tertiary prevention approaches to this pathological behaviour are explained. The thesis focuses especially on introduction of the methods, or the particular prevention projects, in use that contribute much to decreasing the danger of bullying emerging. The second practical part, which was done at six chosen basic schools of the Svitavy district, comprises the results of the questionnaire research. Pupils at the age of 14 and 15 as well as the schools prevention methologists and pedagogical advisers participated in the research - there were 108 pupils, comprising 63 girls and 45 boys, 5 prevention methodologists and 1 pedagogical adviser examined on the whole.

Bäcklund, William January 2023 (has links)
The aim with this study is to analyze and try to understand the arguments and conflicts associated with the planning and development of offshore wind power in Sweden, and to study various media articles and their significance for offshore wind power in Sweden. A qualitative method has been applied in the form of a media analysis. The material for the study is based on diverse types of articles from the media in the form of news articles, commentaries, and debate articles. The articles I have chosen to analyze come mostly from the most popular news editors in Sweden; "Aftonbladet", "Dagens Nyheter" and "Svenska Dagbladet". There are also news articles from local newspapers so that even smaller local events can be captured and studied. Further in this study, media such as Swedish Radio and SVT Nyheter have been applied where shorter news items can be examined. This result shows how the opposition and arguments for and against offshore wind power are played out in the media and that the media can function as an information provider for offshore wind power linked to the planning and expansion of offshore wind power in Sweden. Many opinions want to highlight the negative consequences of offshore wind power, mainly from a local point of view. In some cases, opposition is also about preserving nature's values and not making interventions in nature that affect biodiversity, but this is something that "NIMBY" may have led to. That media coverage of the topic is largely based on informing people about ongoing projects and preparing press releases with important information about the projects, as well as acting as an information channel.

Caravecchia, Emilie Sarah 04 1900 (has links)
Seemingly harmless, the satirical French fairy tales of the 18th century contain a hidden discourse against the novel, which does not abide by the rules of traditional fairy tales. Explicitly stated or not, these utterances are generally voiced as metalepsis by the narrators, the witnesses within the story, or an authority outside the main text. The development of a specific typology based on ten fairy tales published between 1730 and 1754, helps to present an overview of this uncommon narrative phenomenon, and allows for a more transversal analysis of these figures of speech. The contents of these fairy tale metalepsis give rise to a new poetics concerning novels and short stories. In turn, these tales gradually distances themselves from the established norms governing these two 18th century literary genres.

Lagacé, Maude 11 1900 (has links)
Even though disciplinary systems are criticized for their lack of coherence and fairness, there is currently no study specifically focusing on the predictive factors related to the outcome of the officers’ sentencing process. The present research aims to investigate the factors associated with the different types of decisions rendered by the Deontology Committee of Quebec. A total of 267 hearings were analyzed between the year 2009 and 2013. Logistic regression models are used to predict the outcomes of the sentencing on three levels: (1) the determination of guilt, (2) the decision on the sanction, and (3) the severity of the sanction (short- or long-term sanction). The factors used in the models are legal factors - specific to the nature and the severity of the misconduct - and extralegal factors - related to the complainant’s and officer’s characteristics, the situation and the length of procedures - available in the judgments handed down by the Committee. The analyses in this paper show that the different outcomes are mostly due to the legally relevant factors. On the other hand, some extralegal factors like the officers’ rank have an influence on the determination of guilt. And, some officers’ characteristics like the officers’ rank, sex, police department and the length of procedures tend to influence the outcomes of the sentencing. Thus, the findings show that decisions rendered by the Committee are mostly taken in accordance with its mandate and are legally justifiable. The latter results show that more research is needed concerning the impact of extralegal factors on the outcomes.

The impact of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS: An investigation into why family members attrbute death to other diseases

Mathavha, Thomas 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MPhil)--Stellenbosch University, 2011. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This research paper is based on the perception of people over the death by HIV and Aids. It looks at the impact of culture and beliefs on the management of HIV and Aids in the community and also in the country as whole. This research aims to establish the root course of covering death of by HIV and Aids, often due to fear of discrimination and isolation. Communities need to be educated on discrimination and stigma that comes about with people living with HIV and Aids. This study was conducted at Mvelaphanda Primary School children, in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in Gauteng, South Africa. The main focus was on the death of parents of the learners at the school and ultimately learners themselves, who some of them where born with HIV epidemic. Some of the children became orphans of the disease. The collection of data was in three fold: questionnaire, interview and observation and discussions. The information gathered was manipulated to bring about the expected results. Analysis of the data indicated that where there is no behavioral and attitude change, there would be more death by the pandemic than ever before. It is the responsibility of everyone, be it heads of families, religious leaders, politicians, business people and teachers to fight against the spread of HIV and Aids pandemic. This study has also discovered that medical report on the cause of death is concealed in order for policies to payout. This distortion of information does not help in the fight against the spread of HIV and Aids All stakeholders should work together in the support of those will disclose their status without fear of rejection, isolation and discriminated against. Schools, churches and community gatherings should be better used as a plat-form for that. If such conditions are created the spread of the HIV will be reduced and the prevention strategy will succeed.
