Optimalizace návrhu velikosti PV systémů / Optimization proposal of size of PV systems

The master thesis deals with proposal of size optimization of PV systems. According to results of optimization, alternative solutions of photovoltaic system were proposed for family house. From the perspective of costs efficiency were compared investment costs and savings of implementation of electricity supply directly to private consumption. Particularly for each of the proposed solution, profitability assessment of comparing purchasing costs and returns on investment was performed. Theoretical part of the master thesis consists of introduction into solar radiation principles, structure and functionality of photovoltaic systems, electronics inverters and accumulation of electric energy. The practical part is focused on measuring of electricity consumption in particular family house, calculation of sunlight intensity hitting tested house, making various solutions of photovoltaic power plants placed on the family house in order to evaluate returns on investments. In conclusion are summarized all results of investigated solutions according to economics aspects.

Akumulace energie v tlakovém vzduchu / Accumulation of energy in compressed air

The thesis deals with the principle and issues associated with operation of the storage power stations, known under the acronym CAES (Compressed Air Energy Storage). Examples of existing and upcoming CAES power stations from commercial sphere are listed and described there. The paper also includes an overview of basic CAES station wiring diagrams and a simplified calculation is performed to compare the efficiency of the chosen diagrams. In the final part of the thesis there is a scheme of so-called adiabatic CAES designed and calculated. For this type of device has been designed suitable wiring and a thermodynamic calculation of the cycle was performed for the purpose of evaluation.

Studium akumulace kademnatých iontů energetickými plodinami / Study of accumulation of cadmium ion by energy crops

Cadmium is heavy metal toxic for plants and animals and environmental contaminant which must be removed from natural environment. In recent years a new method phytoremediation is getting more attention. This method uses plants called hyperaccumulators for extraction of heavy metals from soils. Hyperaccumulators have, however, after accumulation of heavy metals no other use. Therefore new possibilities are discussed in last few years. Energy plants, in this thesis sorghum and malva, could be used for accumulation of heavy metals from soils and after that these plants could be used as energy source. This thesis wants to find out if sorgum and malva are able to grow in cadmium contaminated environment and if these plants will accumulate cadmium. It also compares different cultivars of sorghum in toxicity tests and compares ability of these cultivars to grow in cadmium contaminated environment and to accumulate this heavy metal. Further it focuses on affection of uptake of kadmium ions by sorhum in presence of glutathione or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.

Influence of catchment spatial subdivision on the accuracy of the snow accumulation and snowmelt model Abstract This thesis is focused on influence of catchment spatial subdivision on the accuracy of rainfall-runoff model simulations. A hydrological model HEC-HMS developed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was applied in the thesis. Study area includes two experimental catchments; Bystřice River basin and Zlatý Brook basin. Both catchments are located in the Krušné Mountains. The research in catchments has been carried out by the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology since 2008. The influence of four different horizontal and vertical catchments delineation on runoff simulations was analyzed. The simulations were performed in two two-year periods 11/2008-10/2010 and 11/2010-10/2012. The attention was mainly aimed to snowmelt component of the model, for which temperature index method was chosen. The results of simulations were compared with water stages data measured in catchments outlets and with data from winter field measurements (snow depth and snow water equivalent). The results from both catchments showed that higher accuracy of simulation of the snow water equivalent was reached by dividing the catchments into more elevation zones. It contains basic terms connected with floods, mentions causes and flood categories, and also the factors that influence it's progress. Thesis includes precautions and solutions of the anti-flood protection. In the practical part of the thesis is characterised chosen region with flood risk. Analysis of the present state includes field research. As a result of the discovered risks have been selected appropriate anti-flood measures for stated location.

This thesis focuses on the analysis and description of the causes of trends in the accumulation of foreign exchange reserves in three selected Asian economies, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. In the analysis are examined selected factors whose relationship with the foreign reserves, based on their merits and in the work of this association subsequently investigated on empirical data, mainly from the balance of payments and the statement of net investment position to identify and specify the main causes of accumulation of foreign exchange reserves in individual economies. The general framework of work consists of the theories of international movement of capital, specifically called Lucas's paradox, whose presence adds insight about other possible causes of some capital flows.

This master's thesis deals with a design of backup power system, which will be using renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy. The first part describes the potential of solar power plant in the Czech Republic. The next parts describe types of photovoltaic systems, their components, design of photovoltaic systems and possibilities of controlling power consumption. Due to the fluctuating supply from renewable energy sources the thesis also deals with possibilities of predicting of the production electricity from these sources. In the practical part the design of backup power system for the house is done, which will also be working in summer as an optimizer for own consumption. A financial evaluation was done for this proposal.
