Akustická detekce potencionálního predátora u koně domácího (Equus caballus) / The acoustic detection of potential predator in domestic horse (Equus caballus)

Vidimská, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
Equidae belong to a group of large herbivores, which survival in natural environment depends beside others on their capability of fast predator recognition and detection. They can sensually recognise a possible threat in advance and react by immediate escape, which increases their survival. Also domestic horses still show very sensitive reaction to sudden (unexpected) stimuli. So we assume, that the ability to detect predator immediately is conserved despite of the long domestication process. The supportive indirect evidence is given by the successful breeding of the feral herds all over the world. However, studies showing the direct reaction of domestic horse toward the canids (as the most common predators), are still absent. Aim of the work was to find, if the horses (Equus caballus) could recognize acoustic sign of dogs like predators and if they could recognize the level of potential threat according to the number of predators, similarly as their wild ancestors. The recordings of barking of big dog breeds were obtained and modified. The final recording contained the set of barking coming from one individual or three different. The recording was played to the experimental horses, under controled conditions, together with white sound as a control. The reactions were recorded. Altogether 12 horses out of...

Studium reziduálních napětí a deformačních mechanismů kompozitů na bázi hořčíku pomocí metod neutronové difrakce a akustické emise / Investigation of residual stresses and deformation mechanisms of magnesium-based composites by means of neutron diffraction and acoustic emission methods

Farkas, Gergely January 2017 (has links)
The objective of this thesis is to study the mechanical properties of magnesium-based composite (AX41) reinforced by short Saffil fibers. Two type of samples have been investigated: fiber plane parallel respective perpendicular to the loading axis. In both case compression tests were performed in temperature range from 23řC to 200řC. Deformation test were completed by acoustic emission and neutron diffraction measurement. Both methods provide information about the ongoing deformation mechanisms. Microstructure of deformed sample was investigated by SEM and EBSD methods in order to confirm the ND and AE results. The internal strain field in the material was predicted with numerical FEM and compared with the observed experimental values.

Stanovení mechanických parametrů horninového prostředí pomocí analýzy plného vlnového obrazu z akustické karotáže / Determination of mechanical parameters of rocks by analyzing full wave acoustic well logging record

Chalupa, František January 2010 (has links)
In this diploma thesis is at first a revision of field used process of interpretation of full acoustic well logging record in WellCAD program. This program uses an algorithm based on velocity analysis which uses semblance principle. Furthermore an independent interpretation of same data has been done in MATLAB program. In this one, individual steps of the process are verified using analysis of complex seismic trace - in particular by using instantaneous frequency. Both processes of interpretation were applied on wide spectrum of Bohemian Massif rocks with very different mechanic properties, so their robustness has been tested. The results of both interpretation processes have been compared and there haven't been found any fundamental differences, just minor, which can't be systematically eliminated with regard to WellCAD's capabilities. Interpreted values of Poisson's ratio and velocities of longitudinal and transversal have been used for comparison. As the credibility of mechanic parameters' values determined by interpretation processes mentioned above has been proven, other reasons of difference between mechanic parameters' values determined seismically and using static methods were searched for. At first a comparison of basic aspects in which the measuring methods differ (e.g. sample size,...

Iniciace a rozvoj cyklického poškození v oceli pro energetický průmysl / Initiation and development of cyclic damage in steel for the energy industry

Horník, Vít January 2014 (has links)
The main content of this master's thesis is a determination of the fatigue properties by using non-destructive testing methods – the acoustic emission technique and the X-ray diffraction. The reactor steel, that is named GOST 15Ch2NMFA, is used as a model material and is used to manufacture VVER-1000 reactor pressure vessels. The supplied material was made of two different steel melting, designated as H and S. For the basic measurement of the fatigue properties the stress-cycle asymmetry R = -1 was used. Some of the samples were used for approximate determination of the fatigue strength stress-cycle asymmetry R = 0. During the loading process the resonance frequency of the loading machine and acoustic emission signals were recorded. The changes in microstructure were estimated from the record of acoustic emissions during the whole fatigue life. The change of the microstructure was experimentally observed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The mechanism of the fatigue can be described by the observation of the microstructural processes as well as the relevant bifurcation with sufficient sensitivity. The results of the used methods indicate a decay and re-growth of mosaic blocks during the whole loading process. Therefore, it is important to find a correlation of these two non-destructive methods, or to use other non-destructive testing methods in the future.

Korelace změny signálu AE s rozvojem kontaktního poškození / Correlation of AE Signal Changes to Rolling Contact Damage Propagation

Nohál, Libor January 2015 (has links)
This PhD thesis deals with the experimental study of more precise rolling contact fatigue damage detection using acoustic emission method. A series of experiments was carried out on two representatives bearing steels and the analysis of sensitivity for the presence of contact damage was performed on selected parameters of acoustic emission. The extent of damage was classified into four classes and signal parameters the most characterizing the development of damage were correlated with the extent of damage. It was also verified the influence of lubricants on acoustic emission signals. The results have an impact on the implementation of more precise rolling contact fatigue tests and evaluation of parameters of acoustic emission signal. On the basis of experiments was established methodology for more precise RCF testing method using acoustic emission on test-rig AXMAT II.

Využití dlouhodobé formantové distribuce pro rozpoznatelnost mluvčího v různých akustických podmínkách / Using long-term formant distributions for speaker identification in various acoustic conditions

Lazárková, Dita January 2015 (has links)
The analysis of long-time formant distribution is relatively young but promising discipline of speaker identification. It is a method of mapping the long-term behavior of formants in speech of individual speakers. Frequently encountered problems in practice are bad acoustic quality and very short duration of analyzed recordings. This work aims to present the historical development of forensic phonetics and currently used methods. In the practical part, it deals with the usability of LTF method in forensic practice, especially in recordings containing background noise. It was shown that the noise appreciably affects extracted LTF values and unfortunately the change is not systematic. Therefore, we proposed several methods to compensate the noise in recordings, in order to be able to compare recordings with and without noise. We also investigated the minimum duration of recording, which is necessary for statistical reliability of the resulting values. This boundary is not exact and for each speaker, it is substantially individual. But it is apparent that recordings (vocalic streams) shorter than 15 s often provide incomplete information, wherefore they cannot be recommended for analysis. Keywords: LTF, long-time formant distribution, speaker identification, forensic phonetics, acoustic quality of...

Hodnocení cyklického poškození slitin na bázi hliníku a hořčíku s využitím metody akustické emise / Evaluation of Cyclic Damage in Aluminum and Magnesium Alloys Using Acoustic Emission Technique

Vlašic, František January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with the application of nondestructive testing methods (acoustic emission, electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction topography) to description and identification of stages in the fatigue process in aluminium alloys. The main contribution of this dissertation thesis consists of the approach and evaluation methodology of cyclic damage in the materials. It dealt especially with the verification of measured data by using data obtained using other nondestructive methods. The experimental results show that the field of nondestructive testing materials can fundamentally uncover the process of fatigue damage and improve current knowledge in this area. Combination of used methods has become a powerful tool for the identification and monitoring of the whole fatigue degradation process of materials.
