Previous issue date: 2010-03-05 / The establishment and early field grown of forest tree species are strongly affected by the availability of soil water and planting season. The aim of this work was to study the impact of soil water stress on growth of young plants of two hybrid clones of Eucalyptus grandis x E. urophylla, both subjected to 4 levels of water deficit at two planting dates. The study was conducted in the Experimental Field Station of the Center for Research and Dissemination of Technology in Forestry, Water Resources and Sustainable Agriculture (NEDTEC), the Center for Agrarian Sciences, Federal University of Espírito Santo (CCA-UFES), located in Jerônimo Monteiro, Espirito Santo State. The study was conducted in two seasons, the first being the period from February 9 to June 9, 2009 and the second from July 11 to November 7, 2009. In both seasons, meteorological data were measured including global and photosynthetic ative radiation, vapor pressure deficit, air temperature, air relative humidity and wind speed. The experimental design was a random split plot 2 x 4, allocating the 4 levels of water deficits in the main plots and subplots 2 times, with three replications. The water management strategies were applied: Deficit 0 (D0) no deficit, Deficit 1 (D1) cut irrigation at 30 days of experiment, remaining dry until the end of the experiment, Deficit 2 (D2) cut irrigation at 30 days of experiment, suspension irrigation for 60 days and subsequent restart of irrigation for 30 days; Deficit 3 (D3) cut irrigation at 60 days of experiment, continuing until the end of the experiment. The experimental data were subjected to analysis of variance and when significant, the means were compared using the Tukey average at 5% probability for each clone. With this study was possible to assess the impact of different levels of soil water deficit in the initial growth of plants in two seasons and assess the increase in plant dry biomass alocation during treatment application with samples taken from averages of each deficit every 30 days. The variables measured in both experiments were: total plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, total leaf area, leaf dry weight, stem and branches dry weight , root dry mass and total plant dry weight. Climatic variables were evaluated throughout the experimental period, the two periods to determine the weather conditions in each season. For the two clones in general, water deficits promoted the reduction of the morphological variables studied and the experimental time was the factor that most influenced the reduction of plant growth.

Postavení jaderné energetiky v Evropě (zvláštní zaměření na Francii) / Position of nuclear energy in Europe (focus on France)Rožníčková, Lucie January 2008 (has links)
The objective of the thesis is to characterize the nuclear energy in the european area with the focus on nuclear energy in France. The sector of nuclear energy is now experiencing a new period, so-called "nuclear renaissance". Many european countries decided to rebuild the present nuclear power sites or to construct new ones. Nuclear energy is the most advantageous solutions for many european countries because it decreases external energy dependence and it helps to diminish the carbon dioxide emissions. In the connection with the Czech Presidency in the European Union, it was made proposal for the "Nuclear Security Community" which has to unify the security level of member states of the EU and to intensify the mutual cooperation in the domain of nuclear energy. France represents world nuclear leader thanks to efficiently operating oragnizations, excellent results in nuclear research, realization of nuclear fuel recycling and strong government support. Nucler energy in France can serve as an example for four recommendations to other european countries: government support, efficiently working research institutions, global cooperation between all subjects participating on the formation of nuclear energy and active involvement in the international cooperation in nuclear energy. In spite of constantly high initial investment in construction of nuclear power sites, the nuclear energy seems to experience a positive future.

[en] DEVELOPMENT, VALIDATION AND APPLICATION OF A FLEXIBLE TOOL FOR THE SIMULATION OF CELLULAR MOBILE SYSTEMS / [pt] DESENVOLVIMENTO, VALIDAÇÃO E APLICAÇÃO DE UMA FERRAMENTA FLEXÍVEL PARA A SIMULAÇÃO DE SISTEMAS MÓVEIS CELULARESILDELANO FERREIRA E SILVA 12 June 2002 (has links)
Visando a
A ferramenta será validada seguindo o
[en] This work describes a simulation tool, which was developed
to analyze the radio resources and QoS (Quality of Service)
parameters in mobile systems. Because of the complex
characteristics of an actual cellular network, it is
extremely difficult having the outputs of the simulator
being derived from a real set of functions, due to the large
amount of parameters that have to be considered such as the
mobility behavior, the traffic conditions, the geographic
and morphologic characteristics of the region, the complex
modeling of mobile radio propagation channel, and so on. In
order to develop a simulation tool as near as possible to
the reality, models that are satisfactorily adequate to
the real case have been considered. So, propagation,
mobility and traffic models were adapted from the IS-136
American system. The contribution of this work is to offer
a flexible simulation tool that allows the user, in
addition to analyzing the capacity of the system, to
evaluate new algorithms of power control, handoff
strategies, channel allocation schemes and propagation
models. The tool will be validated following the process of
a real project of cellular telephony and at the end, it will
be applied to a cellular system with overlapped macro-
cells/micro-cells, and some handoff strategies dedicated to
those systems will be analyzed.

[en] SIMULATION AND PERFORMANCE OF INTEGRATED DATA AND SPEECH SERVICE IN CELULAR SISTEMS USING GSM/HSCSD / [pt] SIMULAÇÃO E DESEMPENHO DE SERVIÇO INTEGRADO DE VOZ E DADOS EM SISTEMAS CELULARES UTILIZANDO O PADRÃO GSM/HSCSDTALLES ALEXANDRE CAMILO 16 May 2003 (has links)
outras simulações buscando maximizar a eficiência espectral
do sistema utilizando deste novo algoritmo. / [en] Due to the increasing use of cellular networks for data
transmission, mobile telephone operators are facing a
dramatic raise in using radio resources to supply their
demand. As a result, they are being forced to migrate to new
technologies that provide high spectral efficiency,
allowing an optimized use of available spectrum.
This work describes the development of an advanced tool to
analyze the operator management of radio transmission for
personal mobile systems. The model was built considering
well-known propagation, mobility, voice and data traffic
for transmission assumptions, in order to approximate the
developed tool to the real world mobile systems.
The simulation tool is suited for GSM/HSCSD networks
allowing engineers to optimize the efficient use of the
available spectrum. It also permits the evaluation of
system capacity as well as the analysis of power control and
handover strategies. Another application exploited in this
work is the investigation of resource allocation algorithms.
A new algorithm for resource allocation in integrated voice
and data environments was proposed and its performance was
evaluated using the simulation tool.
