No. of bitstreams: 1 Audi_CeleneAparecidaFerrari_M.pdf: 570995 bytes, checksum: cf84ec7490b036725e2aa37e7bc50609 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2002 / Resumo: Como parte do estudo de Avaliação das Práticas Alimentares no Primeiro Ano de Vida em Dias Nacionais de Vacinação, em que foi realizado estudo transversal no município de Itapira ¿ SP, no ano de 1999, analisou-se o perfil alimentar dos lactentes até 12 meses de vida e os fatores associados ao aleitamento materno e aleitamento materno exclusivo, nos lactentes até 6 meses de vida. Foi também verificada a prevalência do uso de mamadeira e/ou chupeta, assim como os fatores associados a esse uso. A prática hospitalar foi estudada, considerando os dados que foram coletados com mães de lactentes menores de 4 meses no 1o dia em casa pós-alta hospitalar. Inicialmente, foi realizada a descrição da população em estudo e os fatores associados foram analisados por meio de regressão logística. Para o desmame foram fatores associados: o uso de chupeta e baixo peso ao nascer; fatores para não estar em Aleitamento Materno Exclusivo: usar chupeta e parto cesárea .Para o uso de mamadeira esteve associado: mulher primípara e ter nascido na Santa Casa e realizar Consulta Médica de puericultura no Serviço Privado/Conveniado; para o uso de chupeta: mulher primípara e residir na zona rural. O lactente que nasceu no Hospital Municipal tem efeito protetor ao uso de leite artificial no 1o dia em casa, assim como o fato de ser mãe adolescente esteve associado positivamente ao Aleitamento Materno Exclusivo. Este estudo indicou que embora os níveis de amamentação estejam acima daqueles verificados no país, ainda estão distante do que recomendam os órgãos competentes. O processo de desmame inicia-se precocemente, logo no 1o dia em casa pós-alta. Outros estudos devem ser realizados, com o objetivo de pesquisar outros aspectos do contexto da mulher , na tentativa de entender quais outros fatores podem estar associados ao desmame precoce / Abstract: As a part of the study of the Alimentary Practices Estimate in the First Year of Life in ¿Day National to Immunization¿, that was a Cross-Sectional study realized in Itapira city in the year of 1999, analyzed the alimentary behavior of the suckling infant with up to 12 months of life and factors associated to the breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding, in the up to 6 months of life. It was also verified the predominance of the usage of the bottle-feeding and/or the pacifiers, in the same way as the factors associated to this usage. The hospital practice was studied, considering the information that was asked to the mothers of suckling up to 4 months in the 1st day back at home after discharged. Initially, it was held the description of the population in study and the factors associated were analyzed in the way of logistical regression. For the weaning the associated factors were: the usage of the pacifiers, low weight at birth and mother work, for not being exclusive breastfed: usage of pacifiers and caesarean section. For the usage of bottle-feeding was associated primiparity and the maternity do not belong to ¿Baby Friendly the Hospital Initiative (BFHI)¿ and realized program and the child to have care in the service medical Private /Agreement, for the usage pacifiers: primiparity and to living in a rural zone. The suckling that was born in the Municipal Hospital, has a protector effect in the usage of artificial milk in the 1st day at home, therefore, the fact of being an adolescent mother was positive related to exclusive breastfeeding. This study indicated that, even though the levels of breastfeeding of higher than the ones verified in the country, still very far from what the qualified organs recommend. The process of weaning starts precociously, soon in the 1st day back home after discharge. Other researches must be held , with the purpose of reaching other women¿s aspects in a trial to understand which factors could be responsible for the weaning / Mestrado / Mestre em Saude Coletiva
