Högskolan i Skövde har köpt in ett Pick-to-Light system från Binar som skall användas i utbildningssyfte. Pick-to-Light är ett hjälpmedel vid detaljplockning som visar operatören vilken detalj som skall plockas med hjälp av lampor. Genom användning av ett Pick-to-Light system kan operatören minska risken för misstag och spara tid i produktionen och öka kvalité. Information om hur implementeringen av Pick-to-Light systemet har tagits fram. Ett program för att styra lamporna och läsa av sensorerna har programmerats. PDCA (plan-do-check-act) samt en mall för projektledning har använts för att strukturera upp projektet. PDCA användes främst under programmeringen. Genom samtal med handledare har en lösning som alla parter kommit överrens om tagits fram och systemet monterades i utbildningsmiljön. Några få körningar gjordes utan Pick-to-Light systemet för att fastställa en tid innan implementering. Det visade sig att när Pick-to-Light systemet användes förbättrades inte tiden för monteringen men det var lättare att komma ihåg momenten då plockordningen sköttes av systemet. Även några studenter testade systemet och de ansåg att arbetet blev lättare.Det finns fortfarande vissa förbättringar som kan göras på Pick-to-Light systemet. Till exempel finns det en verktygshållare som kan installeras. Det kan också programmeras för att hantera dynamiska plockinstruktioner med hjälp av en streckkodsläsare eller QR-koder. Systemet som implementerades har ett fungerande felmeddelande och är konfigurerbart genom entextfil. Systemet har även ett fungerande användargränssnitt som tillåter operatören att starta, pausa, stoppa samt hoppa mellan sensorerna för att lösa diverse problem som kan uppstå. Systemet kan utvecklas vidare i framtiden då alla delar som medföljde inte användes. / The University of Skövde has purchased a Pick-to-Light system from Binar that will be used for educational purposes. Pick-to-Light is an aid in part picking that shows the operator which part topick with the help of lights. By using a Pick-to-Light system, the operator can reduce the risk of mistakes and save time in production and increase quality. Information on how the Pick-to-Light system was implemented has been written. A program for controlling the lights and reading the sensors has been programmed. PDCA (plan-do-check-act) and a template for project management has been used to structure the project. PDCA was mainly used during programming. Through conversations with supervisors, a solution that all parties have agreed on has been developed and the system was installed in the educational environment. A few runs were made without the Pick-to-Light system to determine a time before implementation. It turned out that when the Pick-to-Light system was used, the time for assembly did not improve, but it was easier to remember the steps when the picking order was handled by the system. Some students also tested the system and found it made picking parts easier. There are still some improvements that can be made to the Pick-to-Light system. For example, there is a tool holder that can be installed. It can also be programmed to handle dynamic picking instructions using a barcode reader or QR codes. The system that was implemented has a working error message and is configurable through a textfile. The system also has a working user interface that allows the operator to start, pause, stop, and jump between the sensors to solve various problems that may arise. The system can be further developed in the future as not all parts that came with it were used.

[pt] A presente dissertação teve como objetivo analisar a transmissão de
impacto de três diferentes modelos de um calçado militar por meio de sua
influência na aceleração tibial. A variável pico de aceleração e as intensidades da
frequência do sinal em determinadas faixas foram medidas no eixo vertical, por
intermédio da técnica de acelerometria, visando caracterizar os coturnos quanto
sua adequação ergonômica e biomecânica como ferramenta de trabalho para os
militares. Dez (10) sujeitos caminharam numa esteira ergométrica em velocidade
constante e padronizada, descalços e com três calçados diferentes. As variáveis
foram medidas por meio de um acelerômetro capacitivo fixado sobre a pele, na
tíbia, e o procedimento reavaliado em dois dias diferentes. Os valores encontrados
apresentaram excelente confiabilidade. O valor médio de redução do pico de
impacto mensurado na tíbia dos sujeitos utilizando os coturnos foi próximo de
50 por cento, em relação à situação descalço. Após a análise da média de pico da
aceleração, os resultados encontrados não foram conclusivos quanto à diferença
significativa de absorção de impacto entre os tipos de coturno, porém em conjunto
com as avaliações de intensidades de faixas de frequência da transmissão do
impacto, parece que o coturno comum apresentou melhor resultado. Existe a
necessidade de novos estudos com outros equipamentos, como palmilhas
instrumentadas e plataformas de força, para caracterização mais precisa dos
calçados, bem como realizar testes de reavaliação de propriedades mecânicas após
ciclos de desgastes dos calçados. / [en] The dissertation aimed to analyze the transmission of impact of three
different models of a military boot through its influence on tibial acceleration. The
variable peak acceleration, and the intensities of the signal in certain frequency
bands, were measured on the vertical axis using accelerometer, in order to
characterize the boots suitability as ergonomic and biomechanics tool for the
military. Ten (10) subjects walked on a treadmill at constant and standard speed,
barefoot and with three different shoes. The variables were measured using a
capacitive accelerometer fixed to the skin on the tibia and the procedure reevaluated
on two different days. The values found showed excellent reliability.
The average reduction in peak impact measured in the tibia of the subjects using
the boots was near 50 per cent, as compared to the barefoot. After analysis of the
average peak acceleration, the results were not conclusive as to the significant
difference in shock absorption between the types of boots. Studying the
acceleration data in conjunction with assessments of intensities of frequency
bands of the transmission of impact, it seems that the common buskin had the best
result. There is a need for further studies with other equipment, such as
instrumented shoe insoles and force platforms, for more precise characterization
of the military boots as well as testing of mechanical properties after shoe
degradation cycles.

Optimering av processeringsordning vid enstycksflöde : En studie i produktionssimulering på RototiltBjörk, Edvin January 2020 (has links)
Rototilt is one of the leading companies in the tiltrotator market. Rototilt is based in Vindeln, where the tiltrotators are both developed and manufactured. Rototilt has recently expanded and therefore doubled the size of their production facilities. Among other things this has led to the painting process moving towards a single piece flow of tiltrotators. Rototilt wants to investigate if there's a better order of processing the components of a tiltrotator during the painting process. The goal of this work has been to investigate if a better processing order exists, which led to this thesis work being divided into three parts. To start off, a time study was done to gather process information. Following that simulation software was developed and simulations were made. The final part was analysing the results. The time study had to include several simplifications, mainly due to the large amount of different configuration options Rototilt offers. Due to this, there wasn't enough time to gather enough data. This led to the aim of this thesis work shifting from producing an optimal processing order to developing tools capable of investigating which order is optimal when there is enough data available. The tools developed were a database as well as custom simulation software developed for this project used alongside a model created in ExtendSim. Using the data gathered, the simulations resulted in one processing order showing lower cycle times than the others. Processing the components taking the least amount of processing time first and then the second least and so on resulted in the lowest cycle times. Simulations also showed that current production equipment is capable of higher capacity due to being capable of handling a lower takt time. Due to the large amount of simplifications, it is not recommended to follow the simulation results blindly. The results show that there most likely is an optimal processing order. It also showed that if there is a higher demand and production capacity needs to be increased, investing in new equipment might not be necessary if the utilization of equipment is high enough and downtime is minimized.

Mobile workplaces is something that gets more and more common and is used in many different industries. Like any other workplace, an organized workplace is crucial for a well working organization. The same thing goes for mobile workplaces. This is where Work System AB role comes into action. Work System AB equips light commercial vehicles with different equipment that is tailor made for each customer's preferences. Their goal is to optimize the customers workplace, workflow and safety. Work System AB presented a project for the project group where the goal was to develop an new assortment box that would replace their existing assortment box that is bought in from the company Racco. The new product should be able to fit into Work System AB line of products with their own measurement system, design and way of simplicity. The project has mainly been driven by the method “Stanford Design Thinking” which made the developing process iterative and agile. A prototype was developed that is customized to Work System AB measurement system and fits into their different ways of storing. The prototype has an unique design to match Work System AB line of products and has also got a new innovative solution for a locking mechanism with an integrated handle that is mounted on the lid of the assortment box. The development of the new assortment box has gone in line with a sustainable way of developing and using the product.

On Configuration Systems in Product Development for Mass CustomisationPoot, Leon Peter January 2021 (has links)
Increased industrial interest in mass customisation causes designers and manufacturers to seek cost-effective methods to continuously rationalise product development and production processes in order to accommodate for customisation on a large scale. Particularly in the case of complex products this requires significant engineering efforts. Mass customisation in an engineer-to-order context includes customers in early stages of product development, providing designers and manufacturers with certainty in decision making. A large portion of design tasks associated with design and production preparation stages during the product development process are routine-like and repetitive, amounting to vast time costs and errors. By utilising knowledge-based design automation techniques, these tasks can be supported to allow for iterative design processes as well as improved integration and communication between development phases. This work explores how the use of design automation in the form of product configuration systems can facilitate integration throughout the product development process of engineer-to-order products and allow the industry to rise to the challenge of mass customisation. This licentiate thesis describes the development of a framework incorporating product configuration systems based on High Level CAD templates (HLCt) together with auxiliary design optimisation and production preparation tools. Leveraging on the reuse of product knowledge, it focuses on rapid configuration of light-weight conceptual designs for quotation in dialogue with customers, and support of detailed design and generation of production data for confirmed orders. Based on the findings from implementation of such framework in an SME context of mass customisation of spiral staircases as well as engineering education, the challenges and possibilities are discussed with an eye on the future of design automation for mass customisation.
