Abstract: The antracnose or chocolate-stain is considered one of the most serious diseases in posthaversting of the guava culture (Psidium guajava L.), that can come to be, together with the chemical products residues an obstacle for exportation. Although, the chemical control of diseases of plants be considered, in many cases, the only efficient and economically viable measurement of guaranteeing productivity and quality sought by the modern agriculture, the continuous use can promote the selection of fungy phatogens resistant. This way, the search for methods of alternative control, as the biological activity exploration of having secondary compounds presents in medicinal plants and the resistance induction, becomes necessary to assist the norms of quality of the external market, mainly in relation to the extinction and/or substitution of the use of chemical products (toxic agriculture products) for biological products or phytorregulators. The present work had as general objective, the evaluation of the potential of medicinal plants, leaf fertilizers and activators of plants as method of alternative control of the pathogen Glomerella cingulata (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) effecter of the antracnose in guava fruits (Psidium guajava L.). The experiments were accomplished in the Phytopathological Laboratory, of the Department of Fitotecnia and Fitossanitarismo, in the Section of Agrarian Sciences of UFPR, Curitiba/PR. In the alternative control of Glomerella cingulata and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, in vitro, the medicinal plants were appraised with relationship to the potential of inhibition of the micelial and germination growth, in the form of aqueous extracts: rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), basil (Ocimum basilicum), burdock (Articum lappa, A. minus), calendula (Calendula oficcinalis), chamomile (Chamomila recutita), lemon grass (Cymbopogon citrates), cavalinha (Equisetum sp), clove (Syzygium aromaticum), espinheira-saint (Maytenus ilicifolia), fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), ginger (Zingiber officinale), guava (Psidium guajava), mint (Mentha piperita), lípia (Lippia Alba), break-stone (Phyllanthus sp), elderberry (Sambucus nigra), tansagem (Pantago australis, P. major) and tagetes (Tagetes minuta), and in the form of oils essences: rosemary, basil, calendula, chammomile, lemon grass, clove, fennel, ginger, guava, orange (Citrus sinensis), lípia, mayweed (Achrylocline satureioides) and tagetes. The clove, in the extract forms and essential oil, came as a potential product in the inhibition of the development of the pathogen inhibiting in 100% the micelial growth of Glomerella cingulata and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, and the germination of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, in vitro. The lemon grass was shown as efficient controlling in 62,8% the micelial growth of Glomerella cingulata and, in 100% of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The essential oils of basil, fennel and ginger presented percentile of inhibition of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides higher at 50%. The aqueous extract of alecrim inhibited the micelial growth of Glomerella cingulata in 67%. The burdock extract favored the micelial growth in both ways of the pathogen, in the same way the aqueous extracts of mint and elderberry favored the micelial growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. In the alternative control in guava fruits, of the variety Paluma (red pulp), the clove extract at 2,5% came as the most statistically efficient treatment. The essential oils of clove and lemon grass for the volatilization of some compounds or contact with the fruits provoked physiologic alterations in the peel. The total or partial inhibition of the micelial growth of Glomerella cingulata and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, observed in vitro, for the aqueous extracts and essential oils obtained from medicinal plants, indicates the existence of compounds with fungicides action that will facilitate the employment of these in the alternative control of the antracnose in guava fruits.
