Auguste Perret a česká architektura / Auguste Perret and Czech Architecture

Veselá, Radmila January 2013 (has links)
Auguste Perret made his mark in history as the first architect to make use of ferroconcrete as an expressive material. The Rue Franklin apartments, the Garage Ponthieu, and the Church in Le Raincy are all milestones in the development of world architecture. In my dissertation, I have outlined the situation in the French architectural criticism in the first decades of the 20th century in order to provide background to Perret's career, which is chronologically treated in another part of the dissertation and completed with an overview of Perret's important buildings. I also wanted to demonstrate the interconnection of his projects with his theoretical thinking. I have referred to the sources of Perret's doctrine and presented the themes that this architect consistently developed throughout his creative life. In my research I took advantage of a rich collection of preserved archives of Perret's office, and both historical and contemporary literature. In another part of the dissertation, I attempted to find answers to the questions of Perret's reception in the Czech context and his contacts with Czech architects. I was also interested in Perret's relation to Czech architecture and in the last section I examined whether we can find works in Czech architecture that directly reflect Perret's influence. We...

Wollner, Jan January 2011 (has links)
Cosmic inspiration influenced huge amount of different artistic material. It was the only one topic, which went through categories such as high art and popular culture, fine and applied arts, all the medias, official and independent production, state ideology and interest of common man. Thesis tries to go through these categories high and low, fine and applied, official and independent. It divils its material into thematic chapters to achieve this goal. First of them Expand your mind deals with projects of visionary architecture, which does not try to create new "cosmic" kapes but expand - with Marshall McLuhan -man's mind and senses. Then Gravitationless state describes petting loose of Earth as principal feeling of space age. Peace and Freedom play role of contradictory ideological terms to fights between politicians, artists and spaceships. How Does Space Look Like is a question for representation of cosmic topics between abstraction and realism ant the last charter Space for Children does not show reduced version of space for children but "adult" ideological construction of connection between the youngest generation and future in space. Žižková, Šárka January 2012 (has links)
94 Abstract The purpouse of my thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the issues of copyright in architecture. I tis very complex topic and orientation in it brings many difficulties not only to public. As revealed in my work, there is very few litigation on this issue, but that doesn't mean that they doesn't exist at all. However, architects or architectural ateliers mostly aren't interested in venturing into protracted disputies and the vast majority of these disputies ends with out court settlements. This behavior is understandable, since building design represents architect's livehood, they rather abates in their opinions rather than undergoing the time and economically disadvantageous battle with the investor. My diploma thesis consists of six chapters, each of them examines architectural work from a different perspective. The purpouse of the first chapter is to clarify the concept of architecture and traditional architecture, which the Copyright Act concieves just very briefly. The second chapter analyzes the characteristics of an architectural work, including the urbanistical work. Another part focuses on legal conceptual characteristicss that work must fulfill to be under the protection of copyright law. Beside that, I describe concept of authorship, co-autorship and employee work issues....

Veress, Dániel January 2013 (has links)
1 English Abstract Searching for Styles of National Architecture in Habsburg Central Europe 1890-1920 Art Nouveau and Turn-of-the-Century Architecture as Nation-Building This thesis examines aspirations of Central European nations to create architectural style, which would be particular to the given nation and would convey national spirit and character through architectural form. Inspired by social and cultural history, historians of architecture have recently begun to study conscious efforts of national elites to use architecture for nationalistic ends. Considerable attention has been paid to the interplay between national movements emerging in Europe before the World War I, and the concurrent developments in the field of architecture as signified by introduction of the Art Nouveau. However, most of these works focus on individual national building movement. Building on the existing set of studies developed in different national contexts, this thesis takes a step further and approaches the issue from the transnational perspective Applying the comparative history methodology to the three cases studies - Hungarian, Czech and Polish, all non-German ethnic groups in the Austro- Hungarian Monarchy - enables close examination of the intertwined development of modern nations and architecture. By the turn of the...

Vytváření bezpečnostní architektury v Evropě po konci studené války / The Construction of the European security architecture after the Cold War

Kubicová, Marcela January 2010 (has links)
The thesis deals with the problems of construction of the European security architecture after the Cold War. The first part of the thesis discusses the new security environment after the end of the confrontation era. The second part deals with the considerations of the models of the European security architecture after the Cold War. The discussion about the role of the particular security organizations is also included. The third part of the thesis introduces the Russian proposal -- known as the Medvedev's initiative -- and offers the summary of the studies made by the reputable security analysts who deal with the analysis and the criticism of the Russian proposal. The next part of the thesis focuses on the summit of OSCE in Astana. Some particulary chosen strategic documents of EU and NATO are analysed in the final part of the thesis. The used methods are above all research, comparison and analysis. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the discussion relating to the European security architecture from the end of the Cold War until the present and to collate it with the real development. Such a comprehensive survey as this one is still missing in the Czech Republic. The thesis claims that the rhetoric used in the strategic documents of the particular organizations that constitute the pillar of the European security do not restrain from creating the working European security architecture. Though the different point of view on the concrete problems is questionable. It was found that a really working pan-European security architecture has not been created because the Russian Federation was not included and the european security is provided only by NATO and by EU.
