Previous issue date: 2007-05-28 / The Internet has been growing in importance both to individuals and to organizations. For the
companies, a website on the Internet represents a possibility of new business, and for the not-forprofit
organizations it represents greater amplitude to its social actions. The cultural sector, that
normally is also not-for-profit, is using this channel to services, communication and to spread the
public access to its cultural actions, according to its mission. This work analyses the
implementation of art museums websites as a question of management of culture. Some aspects
are considered, like virtualization of museums, visitor experience, works of art aura, services, and
communication. The necessaries conditions and functions to be accomplished by the website are
also verified. In order to better understand these topics, some selected art museums websites are
analyzed on its functionalities, usability, and mission adherence. As a conclusion, the work
makes some considerations about the future of websites towards interactivity and how easy it is
to use the website to maximize funding opportunities / A Internet vem ocupando, cada vez mais, um importante papel tanto para indivíduos como para
as organizações.
O trabalho analisa a

The relevance for sustainable development of the protection of intellectual property rights in traditional cultural expressionsOlajumoke Ibironke Esan January 2009 (has links)

This research work addresses the problem being faced by developing countries in the commercial exploitation of their traditional cultural expressions (TCEs) by third parties without giving due attribution to nor sharing benefits with the communities from which these TCEs originate. This problem stems from the inability of customary law systems which regulates life in such communities to adequately cater for the protection of these TCEs. The legal systems of the developing countries have also proven to be ineffective in the protection of TCEs from such misappropriation and unauthorized commercial exploitation. This mini-thesis examines how TCEs have been protected domestically through national legislation and internationally through treaties and proposes means by which they can be protected in a manner that would preserve them, while promoting the dissemination of those which can be shared without destroying their inherent nature. This mini-thesis thus explores avenues through which the protection of TCEs would contribute to economic and human development in developing countries.

Physical culture and the embodied Soviet subject, 1921-1939 : surveillance, aesthetics, spectatorshipGoff, Samuel Alec January 2018 (has links)
My thesis examines visual and written culture of the interwar Soviet Union dealing with the body as an object of public observation, appreciation, and critique. It explores how the need to construct new Soviet subjectivities was realised through the figure of the body. I explore the representation of ‘physical culture’ (fizkul’tura), with reference to newspapers, specialist fizkul’tura and medical journals, and Party debates. This textual discourse is considered alongside visual primary sources – documentary and non-fiction film and photography, painting and sculpture, and feature films. In my analysis of these visual primary sources I identify three ‘categories of looking’ – surveillance, aesthetics, and spectatorship – that I claim structure representations of the embodied Soviet subject. My introduction incorporates a brief history of early Soviet social psychological conceptualisations of the body, outlining the coercive renovative project of Soviet subjectification and introducing the notion of surveillance. My first and second chapters explore bodily aesthetics. The first focuses on non-fiction media from the mid- to late-1920s that capture the sporting body in action; this chapter introduces the notion of spectatorship and begins to unpack the ideological function of how bodies are observed. The second further explores questions of bodily aesthetics, now in relation to fizkul’tura painting and Abram Room’s 1936 film, Strogii iunosha. My third chapter looks at fizkul’tura feature films from the mid- 1930s to explore how bodies were related to social questions of gender and sexuality, including marriage and pregnancy. My final chapter focuses on cinematic representations of football from the late 1930s and the relationship between bodies on display and onlooking crowds. These two chapters together indicate how the dynamic between the body and its spectator (whether individual or in a group) was reimagined in the late interwar years; the body’s aesthetic appeal is now of little importance compared to its ability to constitute a public subjectivity through the manipulation of emotion, trauma, and pathos.

La résistible ascension du cinéma d’animation : Socio-genèse d’un cinéma-bis (1950-2010) / The Resistible Rise of Animation Movies : Sociogenesis of a Different Cinema (1950-2010)Noesser, Cécile 03 April 2013 (has links)
Our thesis describes the aesthetic, economic and social path of the french animation movies. This socio-genesis focuses on the moment when it becomes an artistic field, reaching at theend a late recognition, which is still poorly informed. The first part makes the archeology ofits evolution, from the first independence conquest after war, to the setting out of a publicpolicy, which makes a heavy change on the animation landscape at the early 1980’s. In this context of impeded empowerment of the animation field, we will examine then the respective roles of the National Cinematography Center, the producers and the television channels, andthe new rules they introduce. We will finally highlight the impact of these operators, who judge and produce cinematographic quality, on the destiny of the artists ant their movies.

Commerce, little magazines and modernity : New York, 1915-1922Kingham, Victoria January 2010 (has links)
This thesis examines the theme of commerce in four magazines of literature and the arts, all published in New York between 1915 and 1922. The magazines are The Seven Arts (1916-1917), 291 (1915-1916), The Soil (1916-1917), and The Pagan (1916-1922). The division between art and commerce is addressed in the text of all four, in a variety of different ways, and the results of that supposed division are explored for each magazine. In addition ‘commerce’ is also used in this thesis in the sense of conversation or communication, and is used as a way to describe them in the body of their immediate cultural environment. In the case of The Seven Arts, as discussed in Chapter 1, the theme of commerce with the past, present, and future is examined: the way that the magazine incorporates the European classical past and rejects the more recent intellectual past; the way it examines the industrial present, and the projected future of American arts and letters. In the case of The Soil and 291 (the subjects of Chapters 2 and 3) there is extensive commerce between them in the sense of intercommunication, a rival dialogic demonstrating both ideological and economic rivalry. These two chapters comprise an extensive examination of the relationship between the magazines, and shows how much of this involves commerce in the financial sense. The fourth magazine, The Pagan, is concerned with a different sense of commerce, in the form of its rejection of the American capitalist system, and is critically examined here for the first time. The introduction is a survey of examples from the whole field of American periodicals of the time, particularly those immediately relevant to the magazines described here, and acts to delineate the field of scholarship and also to justify the particular approach used. The conclusion provides a summary of the foregoing chapters, and also suggests ways in which each magazine approaches the dissemination, or ‘sale’ of the idea of the new.

Previous issue date: 2012-10-18 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The present study intended to grasp the senses and meanings that an art educator elaborated to his professional activity, which is the teaching of Art and Culture to adolescents in conflict with law and isolated from society. The research had a qualitative nature and was based on theoretical and methodological assumptions of the socio-historical Psychology. The subject was an art educator who has been teaching street dancing for more than 15 years, despite de fact that he didn t attend higher education. The categories of analysis selected from the theoretical framework were those of senses and meanings, following the methodological approach suggested by Aguiar and Ozella (2006): the construction and analysis of nuclei of meanings. The interpretative and constructive analytical effort showed that the senses and meanings attributed by the participant to his teaching activities were impregnated by his subjectivity, a personal construction based on his individual experience in everyday life. The denial of the role of theory and the excessive emphasis on practice led the subject to immediate, automatic or unthinking actions. It was inferred that the activities of art and culture have an important place in the life of youngsters deprived of freedom, but if such activities are to have an educational nature, teacher training must promote reflection and theorization. In fact, teachers training requires both intellectual and empirical activities, enabling praxis, i. e., theory leading practice and practice placing new questions in the theory. It is only then that is possible to build a teaching process both critical and reflexive, reducing the impact of individual experiences and imposing certain rationality. Teacher's training is the primary way to create educators who act critically, analyzing their doings, their students and their classrooms away from common sense, pragmatism and idiosyncratic meanings formulated exclusively in accordance to their private experience / O presente estudo, realizado com base em uma entrevista, objetiva apreender os sentidos e os significados que um arte-educador constitui a sua atividade profissional. A formação pedagógica requer atividades teóricas e práticas que alcancem a práxis: a teoria orientando a prática e a prática colocando novas questões à teoria.

Vývoj osídlení v mikroregionu Zarabag (jižní Uzbekistán) na základě archeologických pramenů / Dynamics of the settlement pattern in the microregion of Zarabag (southern Uzbekistan) on the basis of archaeological sourcesAugustinová, Anna January 2017 (has links)
15 Abstract The following thesis summarizes results of the archaeological research in the microregion of the Zarabag Oasis in the South Uzbekistan. The non-destructive research focused on the collection and evaluation of the archaeological data that allow to reconstruct the settlement dynamics in the oasis during the ages. Previously, there was not archaeological evidence available in the region. The fieldwork in the oasis and its closest surroundings was conducted by way of extensive surface survey (global coverage of the oasis focused on the detection of archaeological evidence), and intensive one (systematic surface survey on a closely defined area). The extensive survey proved to be more suitable for the studied environment in terms of the quality and quantity of the collected archaeological data. One part of the survey consisted in detection of the water sources (springs, surface canals and even remains of the karez systems). The basic units of extensive survey were represented by polygons (gardens, fields, cemeteries, tepas etc.), to which the finds collected during the research were attributed. Their dating in the combination with their spatial distribution allowed then to reconstruct the settlement processes and dynamics in the microregion of the oasis. One part of the research deals also with the...
