The aim of my thesis is to improve the orientation of students in the field of the basic hermetic sciences, for exemple the alchemy, the astrology and the magic, which are developping also nowadays. The first part of my thesis is considered to describe the renewal of the hermetism in Bohemia in the end of 19th century and to watch its development till the 30th of the 20th century. Another part of my project decribes the hermetic society "Universalia" and it presents the main and significant members of this groupe. Chapiters that follow this text deal with the alchemy, the astrology and the magic - it's the essential part of my theses. They are considered to explain the young people these terms, to present them the history of these hermetic sciences, to open the scientific approach and first of all to compare several texts of czech hermetics of the limited period with the contemporary view with the following purpose - to instruct the students to approach to the hermetic science in the critic and cautious way. The last text is dedicated to the ocult science in the nazi Germany and to its relation with Bohemia.

In zahlreichen Fach- und Wissenschaftstexten der Frühen Neuzeit lassen sich astrologische und alchemistische Symbole finden. Neben den einschlägigen Texten aus den beiden historisch eng verwobenen Sachbereichen lassen sich diese Sonderzeichen noch in einer erstaunlichen Bandbreite weiterer Texte nachweisen, etwa in medizinischen und pharmazeutischen Schriften oder in Anleitungen zum Bergbau und zur Metallurgie. Aus linguistischer Perspektive und insbesondere auch aus Sicht der Fachsprachenforschung ist das Phänomen des astrologisch-alchemistischen Symbolgebrauchs in deutschsprachigen Fachtexten der Frühen Neuzeit allerdings bislang kaum beachtet worden. Die Gründe hierfür liegen zum einen in der linguistischen Klassifikation dieser Zeichen, zum anderen aber auch in den Schwierigkeiten der – analogen wie digitalen – Reproduktion der Zeichen und ihrer Bedeutungen. Die vorliegende Arbeit liefert einen Überblick über die Herkunft, Bedeutung und Verwendung der wichtigsten alchemistischen und astrologischen Symbole und ihrer Abwandlungen und Varianten in unterschiedlichen fachlichen Kontexten. Darüber hinaus wird auch die Rolle der Drucker bei der Reproduktion astrologischer und alchemistischer Schriften beleuchtet, die der Problematik des Sonderzeichengebrauchs mit verschiedenen Improvisationen begegneten, z.B. durch das optische Nachbilden von Zeichen aus weiteren Drucklettern. Keineswegs stehen die Zeichen grundsätzlich isoliert neben dem Text; oft werden sie anstelle ausgeschriebener Worte direkt in diesen integriert und können sogar als Bestandteile von Komposita und Ableitungen auftreten. Gerade in ihrer Einbettung in deutschsprachigen Texten zeigt sich auch, dass diese Symbole weniger als Mittel der Geheimhaltung und vielmehr als Ausdruck der Gruppenzugehörigkeit zu den selbsternannten "wahren Philosophen" verwendet wurden. / Astrological and alchemical Symbols can be found in numerous scientific or otherwise professional early modern age texts. Beneath texts from the relevant subjects, these special characters can occur in an astonishing number of other contexts, for instance in medical or pharmaceutical texts or in manuals for mining and metallurgy. However, for early modern age professional texts in German language, this phenomenon is rarely considered from a linguistic perspective. The reasons for this are rooted in the problematic linguistic classification of these symbols, but also in the ongoing problems of reproducing the characters and their meaning by analogical and digital means. The paper provides an overview for the provenance, meaning and usage of the most relevant alchemistical and astrological symbols in different professional contexts. Furthermore, the role of the historic printers in the reproduction of texts with alchemistical and astrological symbols is illuminated. Confronted with problematic special characters, they often resorted to creative improvisations like the emulation of missing characters by Juxtaposition of other letters. The symbols are by no means strictly separated from the running text; they are frequently used in place of fully written words and word components. The frequent embedding of the symbols in German texts shows that they are used less as means of encryption and more as a way of displaying an affiliation with the self-proclaimed "true philosophers".

Etude des relations entre musique et astrologie par (1) un panorama européen de la présence de l’astrologie dans les traités de théorie musicale de la fin du 15ème siècle au début du 18ème siècle (Burzio, Gaffurio, Finck, Zarlino, Mersenne et l’horoscope du parfait musicien, Bartolus, Werckmeister) et dans les « Accademie » italiennes (l’Academia Ortolana d’Antonfrancesco Doni et l’Academia dei Gelati de Bologne), (2) l’étude des écrits astrologiques manuscrits et édités de compositeurs Italiens du 17ème siècle (Zacconi, Osio, P. F. Valentini) et (3) le décodage de l’astrologie dans un corpus de partitions musicales (analyse de Milleville, « Madrigali », 1617 ; Strozzi, « Elementorum », 1683 ; des sonates « Zodiacus Musicus »…). Lue en parallèle avec les énigmes musicales et « canoni enigmatici » italiens du 17ème siècle étudiés sous l’angle de l’expression de l’hermétisme et de l’ésotérisme musical. Les fonctions sociales, sacrées et symboliques de cette forme musicale ainsi que des caractéristiques esthétiques et herméneutiques propres au 17ème siècle se dégagent de l’analyse des sources (analyses détaillées des œuvres de Romano Micheli, du manuscrit de canons de P. F. Valentini et du manuscrit des « Hiéroglyphes musicaux » de Zacconi ; présentation des manuscrits de canons énigmes conservés au Museo Civico Musicale de Bologne (Nanino, Agostini, Costanzo Porta, Milanta, Martini, Mattei) et analyse des énigmes dans les messes romaines, Anerio, Soriano, Agostini…). Plus de 80 sources manuscrites (Venise, Pesaro, Milan, Bologne, Rome, Vatican, Londres) et de 120 sources anciennes (Agrippa, Bruno, Cardano, Ficino, Kircher ; Banchieri, Cerreto, Liberati, Rodio, Steffani…), 44 reproductions hors texte.
