Bankovní regulace: Tržní mechanizmus jako řešení / Banking regulation: Market mechanism as a solution

Šabatka, Juraj January 2010 (has links)
This paper aims to find an optimal regulatory system for banking industry. In its first part, it analyzes main sources of banking crises throughout 20th and 21st century. In the second part, it proposes a regulatory system and its tools. Analysis is based on understanding of incentives of market participants, regulators and their interactions. Regulatory tools are assessed in terms of efficiency, i.e. examining their consequences for the economy. This paper is based on an idea that despite unquestionable flaws, market mechanism is the best tool to organize an economy and its industries.

Informace jako základ obchodování s akciemi / Information as a basis for stock trading

Mixánek, Lukáš January 2009 (has links)
The objective of the thesis is to characterize the importance of information and consequently also of knowledge as the bases for active dealing in the stock market. The fundamental terms of information credibility, disinformation and information asymmetry, which have a cardinal effect on behaviour of particular participants of the market, are mentioned in the thesis. The theory of effective markets and the factors due to which it is not able to explain the development and the real state of the contemporary stock markets, are analysed in more detail in the thesis. A considerable part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis and the definition of information need as a basic requirement for making successful investment decisions of an individual, whereas ways to its fulfilment are implied -- including a description and a division of available information sources. The description and the analysis of several dealing strategies which are directly based on usage of various kinds of information are not missing in the thesis. A part of the work is a presentation and an analysis of the results of a research made among real investors.

Rola morálneho hazardu vo finančnej kríze / The role of moral hazard in the financial crisis

Demčík, Matej January 2012 (has links)
The financial crisis in the USA is due to its great consequences still considered to be current topic. Its causes were discussed and analyzed by many researchers, but mostly from the financial point of view. This thesis takes different approach and identifies the role of the moral hazard in the pre-crisis period. Moral hazard is very often underestimated and for many people uninteresting factor. Therefor, the thesis is divided into four parts, which present the theoretical background of moral hazard and bring up the importance and constant presence of it in today's world. The main part of this work is last chapter, which analyzes moral hazard in the causes of the financial crisis. Moral hazard played key role in the pre-crisis period when it was present at all possible levels deforming the behavior of market players and causing the market failure. The deformation had mostly form of excessive risk-taking, unfavourable financial products and abuse of the information asymmetry. Very specific and dangerous kind of moral hazard is associated with the government interventions such as Greenspan doctrine or Too big to fail policy. It is because of its systematic character, when opposed to the moral hazard in the private sector is not required the presence of information asymmetry.

Reagují ceny pohonných hmot v České republice asymetricky? / Do fuel prices respond asymmetrically in the Czech Republic?

Kohoutek, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
It's a subject of extensive discussion whether or not fuel prices on gas stations respond faster on an increase of oil price than on its decrease. Though this phenomenon is widely discussed in scientific literature, there's still no study focused on an asymmetric behavior of fuel prices on the Czech market. This diploma thesis fills the gap and explores the reaction of fuel prices in response to cost shocks in the environment of the Czech Republic. At the first section of thesis, there is described several economic theories explaining asymmetric reaction - especially the theories based on consumer behavior under the imperfect information assumption and the theory of tacit collusion according to which the price of previous period provides companies on oligopolistic market with a focal price for implicit cartel agreement. In the Empirical part of the thesis, I use an error correction model allowing asymmetric reaction to analyze if the retail fuel prices in the Czech Republic really react with different lag on positive and negative cost shocks. Based on several time series of gasoline and diesel prices, presence of asymmetric price reaction was proven between wholesale and retail level of supply chain.

Jak reagují čerpací stanice v České Republice na změnu ceny ropy na burze? / How does gasoline stations in Czech republic react to change of crude oil price on commodity exchange?

Hrabalík, Ondřej January 2015 (has links)
Aim of this thesis was finding out whether there is asymmetry on gasoline market in Czech republic, which is common knowledge or if asymmetry is only illusion. With daily data about gasoline and diesel prices from CZ market and also daily Brent Crude Oil price, thesis tires to prove that there is no asymmetry on the market. Analysis was done with asymmetric error correction model and further testing of asymmetry with koeficients from ECM. Results yield that both gasoline and diesel markets show rather symmetrical reaction on entry price change. Asymmetry was proven only in few lags and final statement is that asymmetry on market in Czech republic is rather illusion then reality.

Kinetika šíření únavových trhlin v ocelích P91 a P92 / Kinetics of fatigue crack propagation in steels P91 and P92

Kander, Jan January 2021 (has links)
The main subject of this master’s thesis was to evalute inluence of loading cycle asymmetry and long-term thermal exposure on fatigue crack growth rate in martensitic P91 and P92 steels. Experiments were carried out in Material and metallurgical research Ostrava Ltd. and their main aim was to study the influences of different loading cycle asymmetries (R = 0,1 and R = 0,6) as well as 5000 hours/600 °C (P91) respectively 5000 hours/650 °C (P92) of thermal exposure on fatigue crack growth rate.

Bilaterální asymetrie aktivity svalů dolní končetiny při základním pohybu tance Cha-cha-cha. / Bilateral Asymmetries of Lower Limb's Muscle Activity during Basic Movement of Cha-Cha-Cha dance

Vondrášek, David January 2016 (has links)
1 Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe the degree of bilateral asymmetry of lower limbs' muscle activity in the dance movement Cha-cha-cha and to determine the cause of bilateral asymmetries of lower limbs' muscle activity. Differences in muscle activity of contralateral lower limbs might be caused by the factor of bilaterally asymmetrical movement patterns, the factor of neural pathways or the factor of training. We hypotetize that comparing the direction of bilateral asymmetry in muscle activity between asymmetrical dance movement and its mirror alternative can determine the cause of bilateral asymmetry in muscle activity of lower limbs within the movement. We studied 14 volunteers (7 men, 7 women), all were actively dancing at competitive level. We tested the muscle activity of musculus vastus lateralis (VL), musculus biceps femoris (BF), musculus tibialis anterior (TA) a musculus gastrocnemius lateralis (GL) using surface electromyography. The dance movement Cha-cha-cha was bilaterally asymmetrical in the muscle activity of VL, TA and GL. Direction of lower limbs' muscle activity indicates, that TA, being a muscle responsible for foot movement, might be affected by the factor of neural pathways and brain laterality, while VL and GL might be more affected by the factor of training. Role ratingových agentur ve světové krizi / The Role of Rating Agencies in the Worldwide Crise

Kratochvíl, Jan January 2012 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the role of rating agencies in the financial crisis. The aim of the thesis is to judge a rate how much rating agencies contributed to give rise to last financial crisis, began by fall of Lehman Brothers in 2008. A main question is whether rating agencies acted inadvertently or on purpose and which all factors contributed most to result in financial crisis and as well how the rating agencies could influence and cope with these factors. The thesis deals with regulation of rating agencies and their appropriateness too. Rating and its aspects in theoretical way are described in the first part of the work. The real situation of rating industry prior to and in financial crisis is described in the second practical part of the thesis.
